   Esteemed Dermatologist Aims To Bring Quality Care To Black Community

Dr. George Cohen is a titan among der- matologists, and he has recently joined USF Department of Dermatology/Surgery.
Dr. Cohen also has a practice at Moffitt Cancer Center where he is a Cutaneous Oncol- ogist.
Dr. Cohen retired as founding director of the dermatology residency at Florida State University. He specializes in complex medical dermatology offering highly specialized serv- ices in all types of skin care.
“At this point in my career, I am focusing on a couple of things. I am a clinician and an educator. I continue to teach and mentor res- idents, medical students, and other medical professionals just as I did at FSU.”
Dr. Cohen continues, “I have also been asked to head a new initiative. We will be starting a ‘Skin of Color’ program. There is a gap in public knowledge about all the condi- tions we can treat for people of African de- scent.”
Dr. Cohen’s program will focus on keloids, vitiligo, and many other conditions facing the Black community.
“Because of the shortage of Black derma- tologists, I want to reach out to the community and build awareness. When people are not in- formed, it contributes to health disparities,” Dr. Cohen stresses.

training from the University of Michigan and medical degree from Howard University Col- lege of Medicine, where he distinguished him- self with the highest academic average in his class.
He has served as a flight surgeon for the United States Air Force, Chief of Dermatology at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D. C., and Professor of Dermatol- ogy and Program Director at Florida State University in Tallahassee.
Dr. Cohen is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Pi Phi (Boule), and Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla.
He is married to Tampa native, Liz York Cohen, The couple have four children and five grandchildren. They are members of Allen Temple AME Church.
    Bikerz United Is Hosting Its 3rd Annual Jamboree In Bay Area
  UNITED BIKERZ BEACH BASH AND JAMBOREE

Once again, the United Bik- erz organization is hosting its annual Memorial Day Jam- boree for bikers, enthusiasts, and the public.
This time, the organizers have outdone themselves with artists, Rick Ross, Mystikal, Jeter Jones, and Melanie Comarcho as host for the fea- tured event.
From May 26, 2022, to May 29, 2022, Black bikers and their families will enjoy the hospitality of Tampa as the or- ganization brings its unique blend of fun and education.
This is the third year this event has been hosted in the Tampa Bay area.
“The United Bikerz Jam- boree was designed to build community pride between the Motorcycle and Slingshot en- thusiasts in the Tampa Bay area and state of Florida,” states Chris (Top) Hill.
“This has become an an- nual event that offers fun activ- ities, and biker educational
opportunities for families and people of all ages. We will have concerts nightly and motorcy- cle activities planned for the entire weekend.”
Over 5,000 motorcyclists are expected from all over the United States and Canada.
On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, the weekend festivities start with a VIP Kick Off Party at the Renaissance Tampa In- ternational Plaza Hotel, 4200 Jim Walter Blvd., Tampa, 33511.
On Thursday, the vibes continue with a Meet and Greet at Smokey Bones Brandon, 136 Brandon Town Center Dr., Brandon, FL 33511 at 6:30pm.
An Ybor City Biker Crawl in Ybor City will follow this event. The remainder of the activ- ities will take place at the Hills- borough County Fairgrounds, located at 215 Sydney Washer Rd, Dover, FL 33527, including all performances and competi-
tions.
