Florida Records Nearly 100,000 New COVID-19 Cases In The Last 2 Weeks
The positivity rate for COVID-19 tests has climbed to double-digits statewide over the past two weeks, while recorded deaths were up 17 percent and hospital- izations have also been climbing.
There were 99,630 new coronavirus cases recorded over the last two weeks among Florida residents, bringing the cumulative total to 6,058,248. With 270 more
fatalities on record, 74,330 Florida residents have died.
The death total over the last two weeks reflects an in- crease from the 230 reported in the two weeks prior, but deaths can take several days or weeks to be reported. Many newly reported deaths are people who died before the last two weeks.
The number of cases over the last two weeks increased compared to the 59,430 re-
ported in the two weeks prior. Positivity increased from 9% to 13.4%. That’s for new cases only and excludes anyone who previously tested positive.
Across the state, 1,934 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 from April 27 to May 3, according to the latest White House report. In comparison, 1,279 were hos- pitalized two weeks ago. Four weeks ago, it was 910.
Don’t Do It!
We love Madea films because they always focus on “real life” issues. Even more so, we love the character, Joe. Madea’s brother, Joe is famous for telling other charac- ters, “Don’t do it” when they select people to date, people to marry, people to help out of trouble or who make their im- portant decisions.
We should have given Joe’s sage advice to voters (men and women) who stayed home and missed voting in the re- cent primary elections in some northern and midwestern states. So, we are telling our readers, if you are even thinking about not voting in Florida’s primary elections, ‘DON’T DO
IT.”Because voters stayed home, all kinds of “freaky” people won the primary elections... even a man sitting in jail waiting to be tried for the bludgeoning murder of his wife.
Yes, in Indiana, Andrew Wilhoite won the GOP primary for one of three open seats on the Clinton, Indiana Township Board. If he is not convicted before November, his name will appear on the ballot again.
Trump endorsed candidates won in several other states; candidates who believe Trump won the 2020 election, who believe in disenfranchising voter laws, who support restrict- ing women’s rights, and who want to destroy unions. Some of the candidates participated in the January 6th insurrec- tion while some of the candidates believe in the “make-be- lieve” Replacement Theory (minorities and immigrants are replacing whites).
In fact, 22 out of 25 Trump endorsed candidates won elec- tion primaries for the Senate, House, and Governor races. More importantly, some of the GOP primary winners for Governor or Secretary of State will have the power to change election results if their candidate doesn’t win.
America narrowly dodged attempts to change the results of the 2020 elections. Now the GOP is placing candidates on ballots all across the country as a means of gaining power to sway elections.
From all appearances, the GOP quietly accepts its trans- formation into a party whose leadership perpetuates lies, has extreme views and conspiracies, tightens voting law re- strictions, supports racism, supports the repeal of women’s rights, and ignores bias, LGBTQ discrimination and hate. The voters of Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, West Virginia, Nebraska, Oregon, and Idaho showed us what happens when voters stay home. That’s exactly how Trump won the election in the first place.
So, if you are counting on other voters to elect the candi- date you favor, DON’T DO IT! You may find America has elected state and presidential dictators.
Remember to VOTE!
