The Tampa Police De- partment has arrested a juve- nile on multiple felony charges following a shooting incident last Friday.
Officers were called to the 6200 block of S. Manhattan Ave. at approximately 8:40 a. m., on October 14, 2022, shortly after two teenage girls had engaged in a pre- planned fight. When the fight ended, Terrance Jones, 16, who was wearing a ski mask, fired one shot at a 17-year-old girl who was en- gaged in the altercation as she walked away, striking her in the back.
Jones is a relative of the other juvenile female who fought the victim the day be- fore the shooting.
The victim was trans- ported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. She sur- vived her injuries, and is ex-

pected to make a full recov- ery.
According to individuals on scene, the fight was due to an argument over Jones purchasing marijuana from the victim with a counterfeit $100 bill on a separate occa- sion.
The day before the shoot- ing, October 13, the victim
and a friend confronted Jones over the counterfeit money and fought him, too. Jones’ teenaged relative asked the victim to meet her at their apartment complex the following day to fight, which is when the shooting occurred.
At the crime scene, one 9mm shell casing was recov- ered.
Through investigative means, detectives identified Jones as the shooter. Following a consent to search his residence, a small black 9mm semi-automatic hand- gun was recovered with a bal- listic match to the shell casing found at the scene.
Jones was interviewed by detectives on Tuesday night, October 18, and he confessed to the shooting. Jones was arrested and charged with aggravated as- sault with a deadly weapon, attempted second- degree murder with a firearm, and aggravated bat- tery with great bodily harm.
He was booked at the Ju- venile Assessment Center.
