  Tenant Services Team Created To Help With Housing Issues
 Former Tampan, Pastor Helena Barrington To Be Funeralized In Tallahassee Saturday
  The City of Tampa is creat- ing a new team dedicated to helping individuals connect with critical housing services and re- sources.
The new Tenant Services Team will work in conjunction with the existing Housing Infor- mation Line, which was acti- vated in June. The new Tenant
Services Team will guide indi- viduals to the programs and services that best meet their needs.
The team will report to Kayon Henderson, the Man- ager of Housing and Community Development for the city of Tampa.

  Tampa native, Helena Brown Jones Barrington, known as a psalmist and for her melodic gospel voice, passed away in Tallahassee last Sunday (Oct. 9th). She was 73 years old. She would have celebrated her 74th birthday on Saturday, Octo- ber 22nd.
Pastor Barrington had been a resident of Tallahassee for several years. She and her husband of 48 years, Pastor Kennith Barrington, made Tallahassee their home for them and the children.
Pastor Barrington was a Blake High School gradu- ate. She attended FAMU, where she was instrumental in the University's Gospel Choir. Over the years, she wrote countless songs. She and her husband established Helena Barrington's Cru- sades for Christ and traveled nationwide as God's Ambas-

sadors sharing the gospel through teaching, preaching and music. She also was co- pastor at Metropolitan Cathe- dral Of Truth, Havana, FL.
To celebrate her life, “A Night of Music and Testi- mony” will be held on Friday (Oct. 21st), 7 p. m. The Home- going Celebration will be held Saturday (Oct. 22nd), 11 a. m. Both services will be held at Metropolitan Cathedral of Truth. All services will be livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube (metropolitan- cathedraloftruty).

Additionally, a $75,000 pilot program will be implemented, through the end of the year and possibly longer, to help those residents who need legal advice or representation in dealing with housing-related issues. The City of Tampa has entered an agreement with Bay Area Legal Services that will allow the City to refer cases that require legal assistance.
The city will be providing more details and contact infor- mation for the Tenant Services Team soon.
