 Thousands Of Dollars Raised Will Help Purchase School’s New Computers

After the original East Tampa Academy closed its doors, community members were searching for an alterna- tive. Principal Dr. Ronald Anderson stated previously that budgetary concerns led the school’s governing board
to act.
Much to the delight of the
neighborhood, the school has returned as New East Tampa Academy, due to much community support and the diligence of school officials to remain a stalwart in the storm.
Earlier this month, the school had a fundraiser to help

neer for TECO said, “As a life- long resident of East Tampa and a 2006 graduate of George S. Middleton High School, community engage- ment and enrichment means the world to me. Allocating time and resources to the New East Tampa Academy was an opportunity I couldn't pass
up.”“Advocating for our chil- dren's future is a mission we can never lose sight of. I joined TECO's Inclusion Diversity and Equity Council with those sights in focus. Developing our communities now, to strive for a stronger tomorrow."
