  Woman Charged With Attempted Murder, Arson
   Gunshot Victim In Critical Condition
 A 31-year-old Tampa man was listed in critical condition after being shot. The shooting took place Wednesday night.
According to the Tampa Police Department, an uniden- tified woman called police and told them her boyfriend had been shot. Police came in con- tact with the woman and the gunshot victim in the 4100 block of W. Dr. Martin L. King, Jr., Blvd. The officers adminis- tered first aid and the victim, identified as Jason Botes, was transported to a local hos- pital. He was admitted in criti- cal condition.

During the investigation,
police learned that the shoot- ing took place at 4605 N. Thatcher Avenue. They were also informed that the suspect might still be inside the resi- dence.
Officers responded to the address and the SWAT team was activated. However, when police entered the residence, no one was inside.
Police have not released a motive for the shooting. The suspect was described as a Black man in his mid to late 20s, wearing black clothing. The investigation into the shooting is continuing.
   Detectives arrested a woman and charged her with several crimes. The incident took place Wednesday.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 4:20 a.m., Ms. Martha Morales Santizo, 26, went to the home of her for- mer boyfriend, Jose Hernan- dez Rojas. The home was occupied by Hernandez Rojas and 18-year-old Echaverria Lopez, of Gib- sonton.
She is alleged to have written a note in Spanish on the wall threatening to kill Hernandez Rojas, herself, and the child they have in common.
She is alleged to have set the outside of the house on fire, causing $1,500 in damages.

The child was located around noon and placed in the custody of family members. Ms. Morales Santizo was located around 1:30 p.m., and taken into custody.
She was charged with at- tempted murder, first-degree arson, violation of an injunc- tion, and making a written threat to kill. She was being held without bond.
     Investigation Continues In Fatal Shooting At Apartment Complex
 The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into a fatal shoot- ing. The investigation took place at 4200 E. Fletcher Av- enue, at the Flats Apartments.
Police have not identified the victim because he is foreign born and does not have next of kin in the United States. Detec-
tives have had a difficult time making the notification. The Homicide Bureau is continuing the investigation, a spokesman for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to the apartment complex around 9:45 p.m., last Saturday night. When they arrived, they dis-
covered a victim had been shot once. The victim was trans- ported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
Police said all of the wit- nesses are cooperating, there is no threat to the public, and they are not searching for a suspect.
 Police Investigate Sexual Battery At Apartment Complex

Detectives with the Temple Terrace Police Department are investigating a sexual battery that took place late Monday. The incident occurred in The Preserve at Temple Terrace Apartment Community, 7855 E. Fletcher Avenue.
According to police, the fe- male victim was walking in the complex shortly after midnight. She observed a small group of 4 or 5 suspicious individuals. The woman told police she adjusted her direction to avoid the group. However, a few minutes later, while she was walking be- tween two apartment buildings,
someone grabbed her from be- hind and sexually battered her. The victim told police that the suspect was wearing a black tube style mask with a white skull face. She was not able to provide any additional infor- mation on the suspect or his
companions.
Police are warning residents
to remain vigilant, especially at night and to report any suspi- cious activity to police.

  Man Gets 4 Years For Tax Fraud
 A federal judge handed down a prison sentence in a tax fraud case. The man was also ordered to repay $7,775 in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service.
On Tuesday, Judge Susan C. Bucklew sentenced Ted- derick Fields to 4 years and 3 months in federal prison. He pleaded guilty to 2 counts of filing false income tax claims with the IRS in Febru- ary 2018.
According to court docu- ments, Fields filed false tax returns in his own name from 2011 through 2013. He had incorporated a business

named Dew’s T-Shirts and Accessories, and filed a claim with the Internal Revenue
Service stating that he had withheld federal income tax.
In that claim, Fields re- ported he had earned more than $50,000 in wages and that $14,000 had been with- held. He received a refund of $7,775.
In 2012, Fields filed an- other false claim using his own information. This time he claimed that he had earned $1 million in wages and that $400,000 had been withheld. This claim resulted in the Internal Revenue Serv- ice issuing him a tax refund check in excess of $400,000, court documents stated.

      Deputies Arrest Violent Fugitive In Hillsborough County
   Deputies with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice, working in conjunction with the FBI arrested a vio- lent fugitive. The arrests took place Wednesday.
According to police, the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force contacted the Sheriff’s Office about a possible fugi- tive being in Hillsborough County. The suspect was identified as 47-year-old Ivan Malave Rivera. Rivera was listed as a fugitive for parole violation from New York; burglary, sex offender viola- tion (aggravated sexual as-

sault), from New Jersey State Department of Corrections; and aggravated assault with
a firearm from Essex County Police, New Jersey. Rivera was identified as the person who fired shots into a crowd at an event in Newark, New Jersey.
Rivera is also a certi- fied member of the Latin
Kings Gang, police said. Based on the infor- mation received, law en- forcement went to 12305 Cloverstone Drive, in Tampa. Rivera was taken into cus- tody without incident. He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail
without bond.
