The City of Tampa has partnered with the East Tampa Business & Civic Asso- ciation to offer a deferred pay- ment loan to homeowners over the age of 65 years. The terms of the loan depends on the amount of funding needed by the homeowners.
The deadline to apply for the rehabilitation pro- gram is Thursday, May 31, 2018.
The eligibility require- ments are as follows: you must live in the home; you must meet income require- ments, you must be a resident of the City of Tampa, you must have clear title to your home, your mortgage pay- ment must be current, your property taxes must be cur- rent, you must have lived in
your home for at least 5 years, you must have homeowners insurance, and you cannot have received assistance from the City of Tampa Rehab Pro- gram in the last 10 years.
The program focuses on repairs in the following areas: leaking roofs; plumbing, elec- trical systems, walls or floors, heat or air conditioning, win- dow replacement, water heater replacement, lead- based paint remediation, handicapped accessibility im- provements, or exterior dete- rioration.
Ms. Dianne Hart, CEO of the East Tampa Business & Civic Association said, “We re- alize that some people are in- timidated by applying for programs over the internet. Anyone wishing to apply for this program can call our of- fice at (813) 248-3977 for an appointment. We will help you complete the application and submit it.”
Ms. Hart further said that it’s not fair to have money available and the people who need it, don’t apply for it.
