BCU’s Robert Way Named MEAC Defensive Player Of The Week; Team Faces NC A&T
Alcorn Stays On Top; Tuskegee Remains #1 After Week 6
NORFOLK, Va. – Bethune- Cookman linebacker Robert Way has been named as this week’s Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defen- sive Player of the Week, an- nounced Monday by the MEAC Office in Norfolk, Vir- ginia.
Way, a redshirt senior from Belle Glade, Florida, transferred into the Bethune- Cookman program prior to the 2014 season after spend- ing time at Marshall.
Against South Carolina State, Robert Way sparked the Bethune-Cookman de- fense in yet another come- from-behind win for the Wildcats over the Bulldogs in a game televised on ESPNU in Thursday night football. Way supplied a team-high 13 tack- les, four by way of primary stops, adding a tackle for loss.

Just three points separate the Aggies and Braves with Bethune-Cookman lurking in third place following its Thurs- day night win over #6 South Carolina State. Grambling and Southern round out the Divi- sion I/FCS top five.

Tuskegee's picked off five passes, tying a school record, to win the 80th Morehouse- Skegee Classic. Virginia Union overcame six turnovers to score 50 straight points spoil- ing homecoming for Lincoln (PA), 66-27. Bowie State cele- brated homecoming with a key CIAA Northern Division win over #5 Chowan, 17-14. Vir- ginia State edged Elizabeth City State, 24-23 to move into fourth place.
FAMU Faces Deleware State For Homecoming Game Saturday
A week of activities is going on on ‘The Hill’ as FAMU is celebrating Homecoming. To cap off the week of events the school’s 0-6 football team hopes to get its first win of the season.
