Local Belmont Heights Little League Victorious At Tournament Of Champions
Atlantic Coast Theater To Perform At Lockhart Elementary School

The jewel of East Tampa sports youth programs, the Belmont Heights Little League, has returned from their victory at the Tourna- ment Of Champions.
BHLL has not entered the next stage of tournament play. South Brandon Little League was host as Belmont Heights Little League All Stars entered three teams to com- pete for the 2015 District 13
championship.
As the games progressed and teams were eliminated, BHLL had all three teams in the final championship games.
9 and 10 years olds were to play the South Brandon All- Stars, winning their game 19- 2.
Next was the junior division where the opponent was the Progress Village All-Stars, and BHLL walked away with the win and a score of 24-1.
The last game of the tourna-
ment pitted he major league division BHLL All-Stars against the south Brandon All- Stars. BHLL won that game 18-5.
Michelle Berry, Little League District 13 Adminis- trator said, in her 16 years of Little League, she’s never wit- nessed a league enter and will all their divisions.
HLL is scheduled to start re- gional play at Lake Wales Lit- tle League.

The Ladies of Purple Passion will host a Blue Jeans & Bling fundraiser on Friday, July 17th, at the American Legion Hall, 3910 W. Kennedy Blvd., beginning at 8 p.m. Music will be provided by Deejay Heavy.
The first Blue Jeans & Blue fundraiser took place at Lock- hart Elementary School. The 3rd and 4th graders were treated to a professional play by the performers of the At- lantic Coast Theatre. The play was jointly funded by the
Friends of the Library Devel- opment Committee and the Ladies of the Purple Passion.
Mrs. Vaular Dene Rouse, president of the organization, was pleased with the results and now plans to host the event at other inner city schools.
