NATIONAL SOCIETY OF BLACK ENGINEERS HOLDS INITIATION AND MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
Recently, members of the National Society of Black Engineers, Tampa Chapter, assembled at Middleton High School for the initiation and membership drive. The Chapter will become the first Junior Chapter of the organization established on the cam- pus. More than 100 students, many of them from the non-traditional education program, expressed an interest in joining the or- ganization. More than 30 students became at-large members of the national body and will elect officers for the Middleton High School Junior Chapter in the near future. Among those attending the event were from left to right: Roth Marcelin, member of the University of South Florida Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers; Joseph W. J. Robinson, P. E., President of the Na- tional Society of Black Engineers, Tampa Chapter; Mrs. Minerva Spanner-Morrow, Chief Diversity Officer for the Hillsborough County Public School District; Olutayo Akinrefon, teacher and Student Advisor of the newly formed organization; and James D. Sampon, Vice President of the National Society of Black Engineers, Tampa Chapter. Dr. Kim Moore is the principal. (Photogra- phy by BRUNSON).
