White House officials will not confirm details of a Satur- day night party thrown by President Obama which featured a greatest hits per- formance from Prince and a special appearance from Ste- vie Wonder.
Despite some guests post- ing details on social media, White House spokesman Josh Earnest wouldn't con- firm the attendance of the two musical legends.
Earnest said the party, held in the formal East Room of the White House, was a pri- vate affair hosted — and paid
for — by President Obama and his wife, Michelle.
A reported 500 lobbyists, corporate executives, celebri- ties and other guests attended the event.
'The President and the First Lady have had the oppor- tunity to make lots of friends, and many of them were in- vited to a private party on Sat- urday night,' he said.
Details of the event be- came known only after some of the participants, including the Rev. Al Sharpton and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, wrote about the event on social media.
Sharpton tweeted on Sunday after leaving the White House that it was 'awesome' to see Prince and Stevie Won- der together on the keyboards and an 'unbelievable experi- ence.'

Flesh Eating Bacteria Reported At Florida Beaches
JACKSONVILLE — Florida health officials are warning residents and tourists of a rare form of flesh-eating, poten- tially deadly bacteria that has made its way to Florida beaches.
The Vibrio vulnificus bac- terium grows fastest in warm saltwater and has already in- fected at least seven people, killing two this year in Florida. The state health department says there have been 32 cases in the past 12 months. Officials
say a spike in cases occurs from May to October when water is the warmest.
Florida Health Department spokeswoman Mara Burger says consuming or handling raw shellfish and swimming in warm saltwater can put people at risk. People with open wounds can also be exposed to Vibrio vulnificus through di- rect contact with seawater.
The bacterial infection can cause gastroenteritis, sepsis and can lead to amputation.
