On Friday, while others are planning their weekend, one man will begin a journey that will take him cross coun- try. The event is a trip with a purpose and not one for pleasure.
Neville Lee, a Valrico resident, is the founder of 2 Wheels 1 Cause, will ride his motorcycle to help raise awareness and funding for diabetes prevention. The roundtrip journey will cover 5,200 miles. Lee will travel through seven states and visit such cities as Mobile, Ala- bama, Shreveport, Louisiana, Dallas, Texas, and Phoenix, Arizona.
He is expected to arrive in Los Angeles, California on May 16th. Lee will arrive back in Tampa on May 23rd.
His goal is to raise aware- ness, motivate, educate, and inspire others stricken with the disease.
Lee said, “I’m so excited to take this journey once again across the country for a great cause —- to stop dia- betes. Since my Type 2 dia- betes diagnosis nine years ago, I’ve been on a mission to show how diabetics can live a full and healthy life with this disease.

betes. Until then, it’s my hope that my efforts through 2 Wheels 1 Cause, will help bring attention to the disease and compassion toward those who suffer with it,” Lee said.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Lee is an Industrial Designer. He enjoys football and said the best decision he ever made was to obtain his motorcycle license.
The American Diabetes Association said diabetes af- fects more than 30 million Americans and is the 7th lead- ing cause of death in this country.
In an effort to combat those statistics, Lee launched 2 Wheels 1 Cause in 2014, and raised more than $5,000. Each spring, Lee takes his solo ride on his mo- torcycle more than 5,000 miles to support his cause.
He also writes daily blogs about his trip. To learn more about 2 Wheels 1 Cause, visit www.2wheels1cause.com.
