True Prosperity To Host Female Empowerment Summit
BY LEON B. CREWS Sentinel Staff Writer
With so many meetings and summits being held to address the concern of African American men and younger males, True Prosperity Evangelist Out- reach has decided to address the concerns of the women.
On Sunday, July 19th, “The Women of Tampa United In Christ” female empowerment summit will be held at the Walk Church, 8619 North 40th Street. The summit will be held from 3 p. m. to 8 p. m.
Evangelist Cornelius Hamilton and his wife, Devlyn, said this will be the first time they have held an event of this size.
“We’ve been talking about it for a long time, and spent the past two months putting it all together,” said Evangelist Hamilton.
“This will be a great opportunity for the women to come together and talk about the problems in their lives, their homes, and in their community.”
Mrs. Hamilton said she was inspired to do this because when she gave her life to Christ, she lost a lot of friends.
“When a lot of my friends walked away from me, I was hurt at first, but later I realized it was out of fear that they left. They couldn’t identify with my spirituality and how I had empowered myself to be better.
“I want to reach out to our youth through a series of events that will give them something to think
about.”
Featured speaker for the summit will be Pastor
Brenda Jefferson from Deeper Life Ministries. Also appearing will be Ikyea Hamilton and The TPEO’s Youth Ministry; Evangelist Flo- rence Leveque; Sister Venita Defoe; Evangel- ist Angela Flanders; Sister Josephine McGee; Sister C-Rena; Evangelist Blanda Dexter; Sister Jessica “Lady Joe” Terry; Evangelist Sonji Rhanes and Evangelist Pa-
tricia Ellacin.
Kelly Rodriguez will give a live performance,
and DJ Big E will provide the sounds.
There will be food, prizes, praise and worship,
and everyone is invited to attend.
