She was born in Quincy, Florida, on December 26, 1928, to Johnnie and Martha Jones. She at- tended the public schools of Gadsen County.
As a young adult she relocated to Tampa, FL. It was here in Tampa, she married her first husband, Mr. Arthur Leroy Pease. She soon joined Greater Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church and was a devoted member for over fifty years. Later in life, she found love again with Mr. Mack Hill, who pre- ceded her in death.
Sister Hill was not just a Chris- tian in words, but one of action. She often nurtured the sick and shut in. If someone was ill and needed transportation to the doctor or therapy, she was there for them. She was a giving and caring person.
She loved her family, and every- one was welcomed to her house. She was an excellent cook. She was known for her homemade biscuits and fried fish. Her home was a fam- ily hub for holidays and family cele- brations. There was always plenty
of food and a feeling that you were home.
Mrs. Hill was a modern woman. She started her career at Sun State Garment Factory and later transi- tioned to Gators of Florida Gar- ment Factory, where she worked for over thirty years. Ms. Alberta, as she was called, retired as the Lead Supervisor.
Staying active in retirement was important to her. Her favorite hobby was fishing with her son, James (aka Rabbit) and she would spend hours out on the boat fish- ing. This activity, she continued into her eighties. Every morning she worked daily on her puzzle books, which she said kept her mind sharp and youthful.
Traveling with her beloved daughter, Brenda, and surrogate son, Randy, was always high on her list. They often vacationed together with her being chauffeured with the family dog, Misty. Their previous destinations included Atlanta, Biloxi, St. Augustine, and always a visit back home to Quincy, FL.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Johnnie and Martha Jones; brothers, Louis Anderson, James Jones, Johnnie Jones, and Minister Joseph Jones.
She is survived by: her son, James Williams (Grace Black); de- voted daughter, Brenda Richard- son (Randy Williams); sister, Sarah Graham; sisters-in-law, Beverly Jones and Jacqueline Jones; grand- children, Stephanie Rhodes (Michael), Terry Williams (Mon- ica), LaShonda Engram, and Selina Williams; devoted god son, Joe Pugh; family friends, Geraldine Askew and Tyrone Williams; great grandchildren, great, great grand- children, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
