T-Boz Takes To Social Media After Cousin Shot 18 Times By Police

TLC singer T-Boz says her cousin, 25-year-old Eddie Russell, Jr. was shot 18 times and killed by police. Sharing the news on social media, T-Boz says the heart- breaking incident took place in Peoria, Illinois.
Russell, Jr., who suffers from mental illness, was named as a suspect in an armed robbery.
Officers say allegedly robbed the First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust before re- turning home where an hours-long police stand-off ensued. Reportedly, officers fired their weapons after Russell, Jr. emerged from his home.
According to police ac- counts, he exited his home in an “aggressive” manner and the officers shot him stating that they believed he was holding the same handgun used in the robbery. He was pronounced dead at the scene. T-Boz and her family are disputing the police’s ac- count of what happened.
