CDC Of Tampa, Inc., Partners To Host Hurricane Irma Relief Initiative
On Tuesday, September 26, 4 p. m. - 6 p. m. at CDC of Tampa, Inc. office, 1907 E. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa, 33610, the Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa, Inc. will be coordi- nating a Hurricane Irma Re- lief initiative to help approximately 400 families. Sponsoring partners are Jameis Winston, quarter- back of Tampa Bay Bucca- neers and Feeding Tampa Bay.
Jameis Winston has donated 400 gifts cards of $25 each, which has been purchased from Publix Su- permarkets for the families to buy items that they may need for their homes. Many families suffered due to not having electricity for 4 or 5 days, which resulted in los- ing food in their refrigera- tors.

Mayor’s Youth Corps Recruiting Teens For Class Of 2018
Tampa teens looking for an inside glimpse of how City Hall works are invited to apply for seats on the Mayor’s Youth Corps.
The Mayor’s Youth Corps is comprised of up to 40 students in grades 9, 10, or 11 who attend a public or private high school within the Tampa city limits. Applications are now being accepted for one-year terms.
Application forms are available in school Guidance Offices and will be accepted until October 20,2017at5p.m. MembersoftheYouthLeadershipCouncilreviewtheapplications,conduct interviews, and make recommendations regarding acceptance into the program.
Youth Corps members learn about and participate in city government, meet with Mayor Bob Buckhorn, conduct community service projects, and produce a youth oriented television show. Teens also learn leadership and employability skills while serving in the Youth Corps.
The Mayor’s Youth Corps provides a forum for Tampa teens to engage with city leaders, par- ticipate in their community, connect with their peers, and learn about civics and city government. It is an incredible opportunity that will give them experience and know-how to help their com- munity.
