Crime
An unidentified female was admitted to a local hos- pital in critical condition early Monday. She was shot while a passenger in a vehi- cle.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Walgreens, 128 E. Brandon Blvd., in reference to a shoot- ing. When deputies arrived, they learned that a female victim had been hit by gun- fire.
The victim was trans- ported to Brandon Hospital, and later airlifted to Tampa General Hospital, where she was listed in “very critical condition,” police said.
She died on Tuesday. Po- lice have not released her name because of Marsey’s Law.
During the investigation, detectives learned that she was a passenger inside a ve- hicle. The shooting took place at the intersection of Kingsway Road and East Clay Avenue, a mile from the

Detectives have arrested two men. They were charged with a $70,000 theft from their employer.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, on June 12th, detectives were called to the WellCare Health Insurance Company, 8725 Henderson Road. Detectives learned that 50 Hewett Packard laptop computers had been stolen.
It was also discovered that the computers, which are valued at $70,000, were taken from the IT Depart- ment over the last few months and were being sold through the Facebook Mar- ketplace and the Offer Up app.
The laptops were tracked through a GPS system inside the computers to Pasco County.
On June 13th, Hillsbor- ough County detectives and street crime deputies, work- ing in conjunction with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, located and arrested John Marlin Burwell, 50, an employee of WellCare, dur- ing a traffic stop.
Five laptops were found inside Burwell’s vehicle. He allegedly admitted to taking the laptops from his job and selling them online. Approx- imately seven laptops had al- ready been sold and an additional 12 laptops were found at Burwell’s resi- dence in Land O’Lakes.
Burwell was charged with 5 counts of dealing in stolen property by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. Addi-

tional charges are pending by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Burwell was released from the Pasco County Jail after posting bond.
The search for the re- maining missing computers continued.
On M0nday, detectives were made aware of an ad- vertisement on an Offer Up account. The ad had been posted by a pawn shop in Hillsborough County.
During the investigation, detectives learned someone had pawned 15 laptops that had been reported stolen from WellCare. He had also sold two monitors and a HP hard drive to other pawn shops. The value of the pawned property was esti- mated at $2,845.
Phillip Jovan Hill, 30, was at work when he was confronted by detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and his em- ployers about the thefts. Hill allegedly admitted to taking the computer equipment.
Three other HP laptops and two hard drives were lo- cated in his vehicle. All of the property belonged to the company.
Hill was arrested Tues- day and charged with grand theft, 12 counts of dealing in stolen property and 12 counts of providing false in- formation to a pawn broker.
Hill is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail on a bond of $187,000. The investigation is continuing.
Jury Convicts Man Of Pawn Shop Robbery
A jury has convicted a Tampa man on several charges linked to the robbery of a pawn shop. He is sched- uled to be sentenced on Sep- tember 4, 2019.
Terry Alonzo Wilson,
53, was found guilty by a fed- eral jury of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery, displaying a firearm during a robbery, and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Wilson is facing a mandatory minimum penalty of seven years, up to life, in federal prison. His sentencing hearing is sched- uled for September 4, 2019.
Wilson was indicted on October 16, 2018.
According to evidence presented at trial, on Sep- tember 14, 2018, Wilson and another individual robbed the Value Pawn & Jewelry, 5401 North 40th Street. During the robbery, Wilson pointed a gun at two employees and a customer who were inside the store

and threatened to kill them. Wilson also brought zip ties to the robbery and in- structed his partner to tie up the employees and the cus- tomer. Wilson forced the store manager to unhook the store’s security video record- ing system, which Wilson took with him when he left the store, court records
stated.

Wilson had previously
served time in prison for rob- bing another Tampa pawn shop at gunpoint.
Wilson’s co-defendant, Jeremy Williams, 35, of Miami, previously pleaded guilty for his role in this case.
Williams is facing a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years, up to life, in federal prison. His sen- tencing hearing is scheduled for July 12, 2019.
