Meeting
Blake High School Class Of 1968 To Hold Meeting
Members of the Howard W. Blake, Class of 1968, will meet on Oc- tober 10th at West Tampa Library, 2312 W. Union Street. The meeting will take place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., on Saturday, October 10, 2015.
The purpose of the meeting is to plan the 48th Class Reunion.
Our Military Men & Women
Four Complete Air Force Basic Training
Four Air Force enlistees with ties to Tampa Bay have com- pleted basic military training. Airman Brandon Johnson, Reserve Airman Christian D. Flores, and Airman 1st Class Chance E. Gray graduated during a ceremony at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, in San Antonio, Texas.
The Airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Com- munity College of the Air Force.
Each of the Airmen also earned four credits toward an Asso- ciate in Applied Science Degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Airman Johnson is the son of April and Steven John- son, of Tampa. He graduated from Kathleen High School, in Lakeland, in 2014..
Reserve Airman Flores is the son of Shonda L. Flores, of Tampa, and the brother of Carlos D. Flores. He graduated from Hillsborough High School, in 2014.
Airman 1st Class Gray is the son of Szu-Moy Toves, of Helotes, Texas, and Boyd Gray, of Ave Maria, Fla. He is the stepson of Carmen Gray, of Ave Maria, and Juan Toves, of Helotes, Texas. He is also the brother of Lauren Taylor, of Tampa, and grandson of Earl Gray, of Minden, LA.
Airman 1st Class Gray graduated from Sandra Day O'Con- nor High School, Helotes, Texas, in 2014.
Reserve Airman Hopkins is the daughter of Daniel Hopkins, of Melbourne, and Zylynda Hopkins, of Tampa. She is the sister of D'kyron Marshall, of Decatur, GA, and niece of Nikkelle Hopkins, of Sunrise, Florida, and Ta’mar Gadsden, of Capital Heights, Maryland.
Her grandparents are Alphonsa Gadsden, of Kingstree, SC, and Laverne Hopkins, of Silver Spring, MD.
Reserve Airman Hopkins graduated from North Point High School, in Waldorf, Maryland, in 2012.
