NOVAL DREW TAYLOR
A 27-year-old man was taken into custody and is facing several charges.
According to the Hillsbo- rough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 2200 block of Roosevelt Street, in reference to domestic violence. When deputies arrived at the scene around 9 a.m., Saturday, Noval Drew Taylor was en- gaged in a verbal altercation with his brother. Taylor al- legedly struck his brother on the right side of the head, caus- ing several red scratch marks, police said.
The following morning, shortly after 7 a.m., deputies responded to the 4800 block of Sun City Center Blvd., in refer- ence to a suspicious person. Deputy Washington made contact with Taylor in the parking lot of the location.
Taylor reportedly said, “I’ve never punched a cop be- fore,” as he ran towards Deputy Washington and punched him on the left side of his face with his fist. At that point, a struggle ensued and Taylor was taken to the ground.
While on the ground, Tay- lor allegedly attempted to grab Deputy Washington’s handgun and forcibly removed the radio from the deputy’s gun belt, depriving him of commu- nication.
Deputy Washington
used physical force to gain con- trol of Taylor, who would not stop resisting, and took him into custody.
Taylor was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, depriving an officer of means of protection, obstruct- ing or opposing an officer with violence, and battery domestic violence.
He was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail, where he was placed under a $6,500 bond.

Search Is On For Man Who Exposed Himself To A Child
Prosecutors have an- nounced that they will be asking for the death penalty for a man accused of murder- ing three people in front of his 3-year-old nephew during a domestic dispute last year.
Angel Perez, 22, is charged with the murders of his brother-in-law, Jorge Gort, 25; Gort’s girlfriend, Brittany Snyder, 23, and Perez’s girlfriend, Oliva Miller, 22.
Police said on December 6, 2014, Perez forced his way into Gort’s home in East Tampa and shot Gort and Snyder who died at the
scene. When he returned to his car, he argued with Miller and shot her.
Perez then reportedly drove Miller and his nephew, Gort’s son, to a local hospital where she later died and Perez was arrested.
Investigators said the shootings were due to a cus- tody dispute over the boy, but Gort’s sister, Millie, said the two men were argu- ing about a woman.
Last week, the State At- torney’s Office notified the defense they intend to seek the death penalty for Perez for the three murders.
