ested in a pay raise and not a pay cut.
It is Wade's desire to stay in Miami and finish his career with the Heat, sources said. However, the gulf be- tween the sides has led to ac- rimony in recent weeks and cast doubt on Wade's fu- ture. Wade has been disap- pointed at the team's initial overtures considering the money he has left on the table in his past two free agencies, sources said.
Wade might have other options if he wants to move on from the Heat. One is the Los Angeles Lakers, who are expected to have ample cap space in July, sources said.
Kevin Love Opts Out Of
Diddy and his son, Justin Combs.
The coaching staff at UCLA wants charges against Sean “Diddy” Combs dropped to avoid dragging the football team into a court- room spectacle, TMZ reports.
The coaches were pre- pared to let the whole thing go, but Diddy was arrested when an intern called the po- lice.
Police may still choose to prosecute even without the victims’ consent, however, because of the video evi- dence.
According to reports, Cleveland Cavs power for- ward, Kevin Love opted out of the final year of his contract and will be a free agent on July 1. Love, who had a deal worth $16.7 million next sea- son, informed the Cavs on Wednesday.
Last week, general man- ager David Griffin said he expected Love and superstar LeBron James to opt out of their deals and become free agents. Griffin also expects them to re-sign with the Cavs, who made it to the NBA Fi- nals this season before losing to Golden State.
The 26-year-old Love, who came to Cleveland last summer in a blockbuster trade from Minnesota, has said he wants to return to the Cavs. Cleveland played with- out Love for most of the play- offs after he suffered a left

shoulder injury in the first round against Boston.
The Cavs have discussed offering Love a maximum deal, but it's not clear if that's what Love and his represen- tatives are seeking. He may prefer to sign another one- year deal and then become a free agent again next summer to take advantage of the ex- pected jump in the salary cap because of the league's new TV deal, which will kick in be- fore the 2016-17 season.
Want Diddy
Address Contract Issues
Charges
Within Next Week
Dropped
Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat are planning to meet within the next week to address contract issues and attempt to reach an agree- ment on the future, multiple sources stated.
Wade has until next Monday to decide on whether he's going to opt in for next season and earn $16.1 million or become an unrestricted free agent.
Wade and the Heat sit far apart on their desires; the Heat would prefer for Wade to opt into the deal and Wade would prefer a new, richer and longer-term con- tract, sources said.
The sides have not for- mally spoken in some time. They had discussed a new contract for around $10 mil- lion per year for up to three years beyond his current deal, sources said.

His Contract With Cavs
George Karl Wants To Trade
DeMarcus Cousins, But Kings
Owner Won't Allow It
The Los Angeles Lakers are interested in trading for Sacramento Kings forward DeMarcus Cousins, as ESPN's Marc Stein has re- ported, but a source close to the Kings tells ESPN's Chris Broussard that owner Vivek Ranadive will not allow coach George Karl to trade Cousins.
Karl has been given the power to make draft picks and engineer some trades, the source told Broussard, but Karl, so far, has not been al- lowed to move Cousins.
When the Kings hired Karl in the spring, there was pushback from Cousins' camp, and the Sacramento Bee reported that Cousins and Karl haven't spoken for months. But Karl's com- ments in mid-April that every- one is tradable seemed to confirm what many believe, that Karl wants to move Cousins.
DEMARCUS COUSINS
Ranadive told USA Today Sports on Monday that the team has "zero interest" in trading Cousins. "I have no idea where that's coming from," Ranadive said of the reports. "But if you like, you should talk to [Kings vice president of basketball and franchise operations] Vlade [Divac], because I know Vlade feels exactly the same way. And I'm deferring to Vlade on everything. We have no inter- est in moving him. From my perspective, it's really simple: We feel that he's a one-of-a- kind player, and we have a group of players right now and we're going to build on it."
