   Inaugural Community Prayer Breakfast Planned

Members of the commu- nity are invited to attend the Inaugural Juneteenth Com- munity Prayer Breakfast. It will be held on Saturday, June 9th.
The breakfast will take place at 8 a.m., and will be held at the Carver City-Lin- coln Gardens Civic Center, 1512 N. Clark Avenue. The keynote speaker for the

COACH Foundation Founder Says Juneteenth And Juvenile Summit Matters
 Reverend Willie G. Dixon, Founder and CEO of the COACH Foundation, Inc. and The Tampa Best and COACH planning committee, have made final arrange- ments to kick off their 6th An- nual Juneteeth Celebration and Juvenile Summit.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 9, 2018, from 2:30P. M. until 5:30 P. M. at the Charles Davis Conference Center, 1002 E. Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. Blvd., Tampa, 33603. Tickets are not needed to attend this celebration.
Rev. Dixon stated, “I am amazed at the number of peo- ple of all ages, races and edu- cational backgrounds who are unaware of the history, pur- pose and backlash of June- teenth.” The Tampa’s Best and COACH Committee want their guests to enjoy the free food, music, vendors’ goods, words of wisdom and family- style fellowship to leave this glorious celebration with knowledge to share with oth- ers.
The entertainment section of the event will be in the ca- pable hands of the radio per- sonality, NAACP Youth and ACT-SO, sponsor, James Cole, his daughter, Jaylin, and Ms. Eboni Crews.
The Youth Panel discus- sion will be in the hands of Kappa Alpha Psi Brother, At- torney Clinton Paris and a representative from the Hills- borough County State Attor- ney’s Office.
In the audience to listen to the voice of our youth will be Hillsborough County Public Defender, Julieanne Holt and staff, members of the De- partment of Juvenile Justice, Property Appraiser Bob Henriquez and staff, Michael Hamilton of CreerSource Tampa Bay, Freddy Barton of Safe & Sound Hillsborough, Attor- ney Paul Rubein, and a host other sponsors who made this event free to the public.
The juvenile panel will consist of juveniles who did time within the system and cost the taxpayer up to $55,000 per year. Each youth will tell why they committed criminal acts and what they think could have kept them out the juvenile penal system.

... To tell his story Saturday at the Juneteenth Youth Summit
  will tell the legal experts, why they didn’t commit criminal acts.
One youth to participate will be Jacquez Cantave. Described by his mother, Ms. Natasha Cantave, as a tal- ented singer, who loves music, and plays the bass gui- tar and drums, Jacquez began his interest in music at the age of 4 at the Children of God Pentecostal Church. His grandfather, the late Elder Frank Williams was the pastor.
Although a good youth, Jacquez did stray, but is now on track, employed with a local company. He will tell his full story on Saturday at the Youth Summit.
Other than his mother, supporting the 18-year-old are: his grandparents, Mrs. Emma and Lemieux Can-
tave; sister, Ta’Shiana Cantave; girlfriend, Lenika Mitchell; and Dr. Philetha Tucker-Johnson.
Supervisor of Elections,
Craig Lattimer, Ms. Ida Booth and staff have arranged to have a Mock Elec- tion at the Juneteenth Cele- bration. Eligible citizens can also register to vote at the event.
The program director for this event is William Sanders.
Rev. Dixon will be in Tallahassee on Wednesday, as Gov. Rick Scott honors his late friend, Dr. Marvin Davis, Master Herblist and civil warrior and two other civil right heroes.

The Howard W. Blake Class of 1958 will have a call meeting on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the West Tampa Public Library, 2312 Union Street. The meeting begins at 11 a. m. and is sched- uled to last until 1 p. m.
All classmates who can and will are urged to please attend and bring a classmate with you! Your input and participation is vital.
