Motorist Flees From
Gas Station Robbery Suspect In Custody

Early Sunday, a man sus- pected in a gas station robbery in Largo was arrested in Semi- nole.
Authorities said the robbery occurred at a Sunoco Gas Sta- tion, 10570 Seminole Boule- vard at 10 p.m. Thursday.
Police said the suspect dis- guised himself with a hooded sweatshirt displayed what ap- peared to be a black handgun and demanded money. He was given money and he fled the station on foot.
Detectives said shortly after the robbery, Darryl Carter, 22, was seen walking in the area. He was questioned and released after denying involve- ment in the robbery.
After conducting an investi- gation, detectives identified Carter as a suspect. The plas- tic replica handgun deputies said Carter used during the robbery was recovered.
Carter was arrested during a traffic stop at 4 a.m. Sunday, and transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
Man Smashes Quarter Game With Sledgehammer

On Sunday, May 22nd at 3:30 a.m., St. Petersburg Po- lice reported that a customer inside Teresa’s Food Mart, 2601 30th Avenue, North, be- came frustrated when he played the quarters game sev- eral times and didn’t win.
Police said the customer walked out to his vehicle and came back inside to play one more time. When he lost again, he pulled out a sledge- hammer from underneath his shirt and smashed the front glass of the game. He then stole over $70 in cash from in- side the machine and left the store. The incident was cap- tured on the store’s surveil- lance system.
Police learned that the sus- pect was Christopher Ivey, 49. He was located and ar- rested at 5 p.m. Friday.
Ivey was charged with felony petit theft and criminal mischief.
Teen Sentenced To Prison After Pleading Guilty To Attempted Murder
Police After Traffic Stop
Authorities reported that a 16-year-old arrested nearly three years ago on charges that he shot another boy and committed robbery, was sen- tenced to 8 years in prison.
Le’Genius Wisdom Williams, who was 13 at the time of the shooting, pleaded guilty to shooting 15-year-old Dinarick Ford three times after the older teen reportedly taunted him. Ford survived the shooting.
The shooting occurred Au- gust 14, 2013. Police said Williams and a small group of teenagers were on the side- walk when Ford rode by on a bike. The teens began argu- ing.
At 2:15 a.m. Monday, Tampa Police officers con- ducted a traffic stop on a ve- hicle traveling east on I-4 near the overpass for East Columbus drive and North 50th Street. During the traffic stop, the officer called for a DUI investigator to assist with conducting a possible DUI investigation.
While the DUI investigator was giving the driver a road- side field sobriety test, the
driver fled from the officers on foot. The officers chased the suspect as he ran along- side the interstate for a short distance. The driver then jumped from the interstate overpass onto a grass median 70 feet below. He suffered fractures to his right leg and left wrist, and was hospital- ized for treatment.
Criminal charges are pend- ing, and the drivers’ name was not released.

Williams turned himself in to police a few days later. His charge of robbery by sud- den snatching is the result of a separate May 2013 case.
Williams was sentenced to 8 years for attempted first- degree murder, and three years for the robbery charged. They will run concurrently.
Parking Garage Shooting Leaves One Person Injured

Detectives Investigating
St. Petersburg Police re- port that one person was in- jured in a shooting Saturday morning.
Officers were responding to reports of multiple gun- shots coming from the Mid- core parking garage, 117 2nd Street, North. A vehicle was stopped and police found a person inside who was shot in the foot.
The other people inside the vehicle told officers they were in a verbal altercation with a group of people in an-
other vehicle. The passenger in the other vehicle opened fire, hitting one person in the foot. The suspect vehicle fled the garage before police ar- rived.
The garage was searched, and officers found casings and bullet fragments. Inves- tigators reviewed video of the shooting and were able to de- termine the tag number of the suspect vehicle.

Stabbing Incident
The Sarasota County Sher- iff’s Office is continuing to in- vestigate a stabbing incident that occurred Friday after- noon in Sarasota.
When deputies responded to 2355 20th Street at 1:33 p.m., they found two females inside the home and a male, later identified as a suspect, outside the home.
One woman was trans- ported to a local hospital with unknown injuries and an- other was pronounced dead at the scene.
The injured victim was identified as Teyanna Le- verette, 20. She is still hospi- talized. The deceased victim was identified as Tonya Simpson, 54, and reported to be Leverette’s mother.

Detectives have a suspect in custody and preliminary in- vestigation indicates the inci- dent may be domestic related as authorities said it appears Simpson was trying to pro- tect her daughter when she was stabbed.
Bernis Boykins, 42, was identified as the ex-boyfriend of Leverette, and he has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

22 Arrests Made In Drug Sting
Detectives with the Pinel- las County Sheriff’s Office ar- rested 22 people, racking up 58 charges during “Operation End of the Roadway” that tar- geted a group running an ille- gal drug operation.
The operation began in January 2016 and is still on- going.
The operation occurred at the Rodeway Inn Hotel, 16405 U. S. Highway 19, and at the Rodeway Inn Hotel, 28596 U. S. Highway 19.
The operation began when detectives noticed an increase in calls for service from two Rodeway Inn Hotels in Clear- water. During the course of the investigation, detectives tracked the drug activity in the two hotels. Over the course of 4 months, 34 sus- pects engaged in drug activity with undercover detectives leading to a total of 58 crimi- nal charges.
The illegal substances that
were purchased during the operation included crack co- caine, crystal meth, heroin, LSD, marijuana, morphine, and Xanax, totaling $10,940. Police also purchased a .22 caliber handgun.
Arrested in the operation were: Richard Allen, 36; Lori Alvarez, 54; Tremayne Armstrong, 33; Bobby Bailey, 32; Regan Benton, 35; Crystal Calla- han, 36; Cherokie Carter, 27; Maxfield Chudy, 21; Adam Dearth, 24; Dustin Debellis, 31; Shawn Dun- away, 22; Shawn Fecura, 32; Stephen Fecura, 32; Christopher Johnson, 34; Alton Lesane, 52; Arthur Morrison, 32; Alfonso Ortiz, 37; Charlie Sim- mons, 24; Dajon Tennell, 18; Tamaira Vargas, 25; Joseph Vincent, 44, and David Walker, 27. They were all charged with various drug offenses.
