Tampa Athlete Wins Medals In Track & Field For TSU
Billion To Education

Recently, Tampa native Marc McCoy represented Tennessee State University in the Men’s Track and Field Competition. The event was held at Edward S. Temple Track on the campus of Ten- nessee State University.
McCoy finished third in the competition with 133 points. In the outdoor competition, McCoy placed 6th in the De- cathlon, Javelin and Long Jump. He placed 5th in the Triple Jump. He continues to hold the school record in the Javelin.
In the indoor competition, the young man placed 3rd in the Long Jump and 2nd in the Triple Jump with a personal best of 50’1”.
The 20-year-old Tampa na- tive is the son of Vince and Sonja McCoy. He graduated from Spoto High School, where he placed second in the state two consecutive years. He is a member of Loving Hill

The young man has aspira-
tions of competing in the Triple Jump Competition in the 2020 Olympics.
He is majoring in Human Performance and Sports Sci- ence. His goal is to work as a professional trainer for sports teams, his parents said.
During his leisure time, McCoy enjoys working out, basketball, football, and other outdoor activities.
Athletes representing the school who had top five fin- ishes were Quamel Prince, 1st, 800m; Jason Griffin, 2nd, 400 Hurdles; McCoy, 3rd, Triple Jump; Shaquille Cragwall, 4th, Triple Jump; and Malik Wright, of Tampa, 2nd, 4 x 400 Relay.
