Tampa Residents Join Group Headed On Pilgrimage To Visit Holy Land

it’s not too chilly). I’m humbly overwhelmed and know that this will be the most inspira- tional trip.
“I’m grateful to the Na- tional President Tolbert in- cluded me as the 26th person to be a part of this 6-day pilgrim- age to the Holy Land...,” Dr. Wright, a member of New Mt. Zion, Tampa, stated.

Two residents of Tampa will be among a group of 26 top officers headed on a Pil- grimage to Israel for 6 days. Dr. Barbara Wright and Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks will be joining Rev. Dr. Samuel Tolbert, Presi- dent of the National Baptist Convention of America Inter- national, Inc. and a delegation of officers of the convention. Dr. Wright is President of the Senior Women’s Mission- ary Union, and Dr. Banks is Vice President At-Large of the convention.
On this pilgrimage, a part- nership inclusive of the Inter- national Fellowship of Christians and Jews, they will have the opportunity to visit several of the Social Service Projects. Their itinerary in- cludes visits to Jerusalem, the Mount of Olives, the Upper Room, Garden of Gethsemane, Sea of Galilee and much more,

Dr. Wright stated. According to information
released by the purpose of the Rev. Dr. Tolbert, trip is “to learn first-hand the impor- tance of the U. S.-Israel rela- tionship through the land, the people and the Nation of Is- rael...”
Of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Dr. Banks said, “I am excited about the oppor- tunity to visit the Holy Land, the place where our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was born, lived, died, resurrected from the dead and someday will re- turn to establish His earthly kingdom. Being able to actu- ally see and personally experi- ence the places we preach about on Sunday mornings will be inspirational and will cultivate a greater love in my heart for God's Holy Word.”
