Notorious BIG Statue In The Works In New York
NOTORIOUS BIG
The Hip Hop Hall Of Fame Museum is working to bring a memorial statue of Christopher Wallace, better known as The Notorious B.I.G., to Brook- lyn, New York.
The organizers hope to place the statue at Putnam Triangle Plaza in Clinton Hill, near where the late rapper grew up in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn.
The six-foot-tall sculpture of the legendary rapper's face was created by Brooklyn-based artist Tanda Francis, and was recently shown at a gallery in the borough.
The Hall Of Fame Museum is raising money through a $35,000 public crowd-funding campaign to pay for the statue's design, the bronzing, and the process of getting approval for its installation from the com- munity board and City Council.
Wallace was killed at the height of his career in a drive- by shooting while in Los Ange- les in 1997 and was a figurehead for East Coast rap music and the violence that can come with high-profile rap beefs.
Despite Hip Hop's popularity in New York and around the world, official monuments cel- ebrating its history are still rel- atively uncommon.

The war between Tamar Braxton and ‘The Real’ has intensified and now, lawyers from Warner Bros, the show’s parent company, are report- edly involved.
During the episode, which will air on Thursday at 9 p.m. on WE TV, Tamar and her husband/manager Vincent Herbert continue to insinu- ate that her former co-hosts Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai and Tamara Mowry-Housley played a part in her termina- tion.
‘Vince declares that the co- hosts were always jealous of Tamar’s success and that Loni in particular always had it out for Tamar.
Vince helps pass the buck in the episode and fuels the
conspiracy theory that the co- hosts aided in her ouster,’ the source added.
Warner Bros fired off legal letters to WE TV about this Thursday’s episode claiming that if anything on the show’s reenactment further dispar- ages The Real or violates Tamar and Vince’s non-dis- closure agreement, they plan to pursue litigation.
The New York Post has since reported that Vince was aware that his wife was being fired from The Real two weeks before he actually told her.
That’s not all however, there are allegations that “The Real” is threatening to expose Tamar with videos of her blowing up on executive pro- ducer Rachel Miskowiec.
American rapper Freddie Gibbs has been arrested and is being detained in Toulouse, France, after being accused of rape in Austria.
Freddie Gibbs, of Gary, Indiana, was supposed to take the stage at a venue called Le Rex in Toulouse, France, as part of a series of tour dates throughout Europe.
Instead, he was arrested for an alleged rape that occurred in Austria, in 2015.
Freddie Gibbs’ lawyer Scott Leemon denied the al- legations against his client in an exclusive statement to All- HipHop.com.
Freddie Gibbs adamantly denies the allegations that have been levied against him by Austrian authorities,” Scott Leemon told All- HipHop.com. “It makes you
wonder why it took almost a year for Austrian officials to bring these charges.
The rapper was also due to play a gig in Austria earlier this week as well, but he canceled the event in that country due to an arrest warrant for the al- leged crime.
Freddie Gibbs, born Fredrick Tipton, appeared before judges in France al- ready, and plans to fight extra- dition to Austria.
“Freddie will be fighting the extradition request as these are nothing more than trumped up charges,” Scott Leemon promised to All- HipHop.com.
The rapper was on world tour would have included up- coming performances in Ire- land, the UK, Portugal and Canada.
