Brian Lamb Elected New Chair Of The USF Board Of Trustees
Recently, members of the University of South Florida Board of Trustees elected Brian Lamb to serve as its president. A USF alumnus, Lamb has served as the Board’s Vice Chairman since 2014.
He succeeds Harold “Hal” W. Mullis, who will remain on the board.
“It’s a privilege to assume this leadership role during a transformational time in USF history. I will remain focused on the university’s primary goal of student success and preparing them for the com- petitive global workplace,” Lamb said.
As chairman, he will pre- side over board meetings, ap- point members to the board’s workgroups and committees, and is responsible for calling any special meetings of the board.
Lamb earned his Bache-
lor’s Degree in accounting from USF and is also a gradu- ate of the Stonier Graduate Banking School at the Univer- sity of Pennsylvania. His USF Board of Trustees workgroup assignments include chairman of the Academic and Campus Environment workgroup, member of the Executive Com- mittee, Finance and Audit workgroup and the Compensa- tion Committee.
He currently serves as the Regional President for Fifth Third Bank (North Florida). He joined Fifth Third Bank in December 2006, as the Chief Financial Officer for Tampa Bay and later served as the head of Business Banking and Private Banking for the Tampa Bay market.
He is actively involved in several organizations in the community, including the Tampa Bay Partnership, Florida Council of 100 and En-

“I am committed to work-

I look forward to continu- ing the trajectory of success that President (Judy) Gen- shaft and Chairman Mullis have established for the uni- versity,” Lamb stated.
During the meeting, the Board members also elected Jordan Zimmerman to serve as Vice Chairman of the Board.
Zimmerman is founder and chairman of Ft. Laud- erdale-based Zimmerman Ad- vertising. It is the 14th largest ranked advertising agency in the country.
Zimmerman’s philan- thropic interests are about “paying it forward.” Education, public and private, is a priority for Zimmerman and he ac- tively participates in the Florida Council of 100, the Florida Council on Economic Education and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance CEO Council, among others.
Lamb and Zimmerman will both serve two-year terms. The USF Board of Trustees includes 13 members. Six trustees are appointed by Florida’s governor and five trustees are appointed by the Board of Governors. The USF System Faculty Council Presi- dent and USF System Student Advisory Council President

On Monday, June 13th, the Democratic Black Caucus will be host- ing a “Listening Tour” where each candidate seeking office will be given 10 minutes to provide their platform.
Robin Lockett, President of the Democratic Black Caucus said, “We want to give each candidate an opportunity to talk to us.
“We don’t want to hear anything about their past victories; only about their present intentions.”
