Coast Guard Cutter Resolute Completes 52-Day Patrol
ST. PETERSBURG --- The Coast Guard Cutter Resolute returned to its homeport in St. Petersburg, Florida, Friday fol- lowing a 52-day law enforcement patrol in the Caribbean Sea.
During their multi-agency mission, the crew of the Res- olute transited more than 5,600 miles patrolling through the heart of the Caribbean from the Dominican Republic to south of Puerto Rico.
Resolute’s crew worked with other Coast Guard and for- eign law enforcement teams to target the illicit flow of drugs into the United States, conducting one international and inter-agency counter narcotics operation.
Working jointly with a deployed Coast Guard Tactical Law Enforcement Team and the Dutch Navy, Resolute’s crew suc- cessfully apprehended four suspected drug smugglers and seized more than 300 kilograms of contraband on the high seas.
Resolute also worked alongside Coast Guard Station San Juan and Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Team Miami while patrolling off the coast of Palomino Island near Puerto Rico, where Resolute’s boarding teams enforced recre- ational vessel compliance to maritime regulations in an effort to promote safety of life at sea for all local sea traffic.
The Resolute is a 210-foot Medium Endurance cutter that operates in the offshore maritime environment under the command of Coast Guard Atlantic Area, headquartered in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Other missions include maritime law enforcement, ma- rine environmental protection, defense readiness, and ports, waterways, and coastal security.
His Self-Image
Lord, I pray that You would reveal to my husband that he is the image and glory of God (1 Corinthians 11:7) and he is complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power (Colossians 2:10). Give him the peace and se- curity of knowing that he is accepted, not rejected, by You. Free him from the self-focus and self-consciousness that can imprison his soul. Help him to see who You re- ally are so he’ll know who he really is. May his true self- image be the image of Christ stamped upon his soul. I say to you, (husband’s name), Arise, shine for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1)
Whom He foreknew, he also predestined to be con- formed to the image of His son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. ROMANS 8:29
His Faith
Lord, I pray that You will give (husband’s name) an added measure of faith today. Enlarge his ability to be- lieve in You, Your Word, Your promises, Your ways, and Your power. Put an longing in his heart to talk with You and hear Your voice. Give him an understanding of what it means to bask in Your presence and not just ask for things. May he seek You, rely totally upon You, be led by You, put You first, and acknowledge You in everything he does. Lord, You have said in Your Word that whatever is not from faith is sin (Romans 14:23). May my husband be free from the sin of doubt in his life.
Let him ask in faith, with no doubting for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, un- stable in all his ways. JAMES 1:6-8
