MRS. AMANDA WHITE ANTHONY
Mrs. Amanda White An- thony of Tampa, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 28 at11a.m.atSt.LukeA.M.E. Church, 2709 N. 25th Street, with Reverend Kirk R. Bogen, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Gar- den of Memories Cemetery.
Mrs. Anthony was a native of Alapaha, GA, and a resi- dent of Tampa for many years. She was educated in the public schools of Albany, GA, Brooklyn, NY, and Tampa, FL.
She was the ninth child and last survivor of thirteen children, and was baptized when she was eleven years old.
She met and later married, Weldon Hodgins in 1942 and from this union, a daughter, Dolores Hodgins McIntosh was born. Later in life, she married Shelly Anthony.
She was a supportive member of St. Luke A. M. E. Church and a life-member of the National Council of Negro Women.
She retired in June 1998 from the School District of Hillsborough County after 27 years of service. Her last po- sition was with Oak Park Ele- mentary School.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Thomas and Mary White; brothers, Dothan, Chester, Moses, Cecil, Eddie, Eugene, Claude, Andrew, Roscoe and Thomas White, and Solomon and Al- fonzo Davis; sisters, Ludell White Fisher, Maria White Bass and Christine White.
Left to cherish her memo- ries are: her daughter, Do- lores Hodgins McIntosh and special companion, Gene Black; sisters-in-law, Evelyn White and Bernice Hodgins; brother-in-law, Edward Hod- gins; nieces, Cecilia White, Karen Pruitt (Dewey), Gina Cunningham (Carlton), Kathy White, Elvenia Land- ingham (James), Martha Williams (Willie), Yvonne Edwards, Gwendolyn Moore (Reginald), Brenda Carter (Leroy), Lureen White, Bar- bara McCloud (Kelsey), Sylvia Johnson (O’Hara), Bernadine King, and Made- line White; nephews, Cecil White, Jr., Chester White, Jr. (Allison), Theotis White (Nancy), Terry White, Joseph White (Nancy), Nelson White, Alton White (Geral- dine), Andre White (Joyce), and Reginald White; a host of grand and great grand nephews and nieces; godson, Irvin Singletary; and numer- ous friends, caregivers, church family, NCNW sis-

MRS. MILDRED ANN RIVERS THOMAS
Mrs. Mildred Ann Rivers Thomas of Tampa, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 28 at 11 a. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel with Pastor Teia Thomas, officiating. In- terment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Mrs. Mildred Ann Rivers Thomas was a native of Dothan, Alabama, and a resi- dent of Tampa for 30 years. She attended public school at Carver High and graduated with the Class of 1966. She furthered her education and pursued a degree in nursing and also obtained her license as a Pharmaceutical Tech.
She was preceded in death by: her son, Ocie D'Relle "Peter Pan" Thomas; par- ents, Melissie Rivers and Robert Rivers; and sister, Robbie Louise Warren.
She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Octavia Thomas of Tampa; her grandchildren, Solomon Thomas, Quashonna Thomas, Quandis Thomas, Keonte' Thomas, and Mz'U- nique Thomas; two brothers, Charles Thomas (Catherine) of Dothan, AL, and Robert Rivers, Jr. of Tampa; sister, Elnora Rivers of Tampa; uncle, Nehemiah Eutsey (Ann) of Bronx, New York; nephews, Antell Thomas, Christopher Thomas of New Jersey, Joseph Rivers, Rod- erick Rivers, Robert Rivers, III, Robert Joe Rivers, Curtis Rivers, Antonio Rivers, Christopher Warren (Tam- mie), and Donovan Bush (Trina); nieces, Teia Thomas, Audrey Griffin (Walter), Cyn- dia Hicks of New Jersey, San- dra Everett (Chuck), Kathy Warren, and Trencial Pasley (Joseph); special family member nephew and care- giver, Lorenzo Charles War- ren, Sr. of Tampa; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

MR. ANTHONY ERNEST LANE, JR.
Mr. Anthony Ernest Lane, Jr. of Tampa, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 28 at 11 a. m. at St. John Cathe- dral, 3401 E. 25th Avenue, with Pastor Dwight Newkirk, pastor, officiating. Inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Mr. Lane was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, and was a graduate of Jeffer- son High School. He accepted Christ at an early age.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Deacon Leroy Lane, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Anthony Ernest Lane, Sr. (Carolyn); his mother, Ernestine Copeland; his loving and de- voted grandmother, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Lane; daughter, Nierra Nicole Lane and her mother, Ms. Tameka Powell; sisters, Kimberly Lane, April Grant and Angela Copeland; brothers, Marvin Lane, Sr., Demetreus Copeland and Jonathan Copeland; aunts, Mrs. Susie Staten, Mrs. Al- berta Melvin, Mrs. Thelma Nelson and Ms. Bobbie Curry; uncles, Mr. Gregory Lane and Mr. Dennis Lane (Ilene); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other sor- rowing relatives and friends.

MRS. BARBARA A. HART
Mrs. Barbara A. Hart, 87, passed away May 19, 2016. She was born August 1, 1929 in Denver, Colorado.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: daughter, Sherdine; son, Larry; grandson, Jamil; granddaughter, Carolyn; sis- ter, Mildred Jackson; and surrogate son, Willie James “Buster” Hart.
She came to the Tampa Bay area in 1958 from Jack- sonville, FL, and was one of the pioneer members of the Macedonia M. B. Church, Thonotosassa, FL, Pastor W. L. Jackson. In faithful, dedi- cation and commitment to her Lord and the church she served many years as Church Clerk, Sunday School Teacher and Women Min- istry Mission President, amidst many acts of service.
She was also very active within the community with the Sterling Heights Community Senior Citizen Center, a past officer with the South Florida Progressive Association, Dr. C. T. Kirkland, Moderator; a past officer and dedicated member of the Caribbean World Mis- sion, under leadership of the late Dr. C. C. Carlman; and also a member of the Second Saturday Prayer Ministry, Delores Hardy, president.
Mrs. Hart retired from the Hillsborough County School System after 35 years teach- ing at the Paul H. Mort Ele- mentary School.
Left to cherish her memory
are: a loving, caring and de- voted son and daughter, Leon Adkins and his wife, Angilen of Tampa, and Barbara Ann Ad- kins of Thonotosassa; sister, Elaine Brown of Detroit, MI; granddaughter, Niya Cook and husband, Larry; great grand, Elin; great granddaughters, Alexis, Tatiana and Antoinette Cole; great grandson, Anthony (AJ) Cole, and their father, An- thony Cole, all of Tampa.
She also leaves her ex- tended families: in Jack- sonville, FL, Mr. Laura Adkins, Mr. Wayne Adkins, Mr. Maude Adkins, and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Anderson; and in Macon, GA, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Montford and daughter, Regina. Several nieces and nephews of Detroit and Jackson, Michigan includ- ing: a very caring and devoted nephew, Mr. Herman Brown and wife, Elise and son, Ezra of Detroit, MI; several cousins, one of whom, Mr. Shelby Weaver, Jr. and family, Tampa. Three extended chil- dren and their families: Julia, Sylvia and Lemoyne Hart, Jr., all of Thonotosassa, FL; and brother-in-law, Mr. Albert Hart of Thonotosassa, FL.
Some of those who shared in these fond memories are: Mrs. Gladys Gilbert and fam- ily, Mrs. Minnie Sullivan and family, Mrs. Florence Gor- don and family, Atty. Delano Stewart and family, Mr. Robert Cole and family, Mrs. Evelyn Mobley and family, Mrs. Artha Williams and family, Mrs. Cottie Mae Starks and family, and Pastor W. L. Jackson and family.
There will be a visitation on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 6-8 p. m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 11005 N. U. S. Highway 301, Thonotosassa, FL, 33592.
The funeral will be Satur- day, May 28, 2016, at 10 a. m. at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 6750 U. S. Highway 301, Thonotosassa, FL, 33592. The interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Memories and con- dolences may be left online at www.sunset-fh.com.
