Police Investigate Body Found Near Courtney Campbell Causeway
Tampa Man Found Dead Of Overdose
21 Years In
Federal Prison
On July 25th, police were contacted shortly after 6:30 a.m., about a body found in the river.
Officers responded to the south side of the causeway, where they discovered the body of a man, floating in the water. Police have not released any additional information and the investigation is con- tinuing.’
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigat- ing the death of a young Tampa man this weekend. He was found dead of an ap- parent overdose Saturday in Ruskin.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to
700 block of 10th Avenue, in Ruskin, in reference to a young Black man found de- ceased.
A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office said there is an active and open death in- vestigation. At this time, no other details can be released.
An 22-year-old Tampa man was given a lengthy term in federal prison Wednesday morning. U. S. District Judge Steven Merryday sentenced Javeon Jacobs of Tampa to 21 years in federal prison.
He was sentenced for firearms offenses relating to his brandishing of a firearm during three armed carjack- ing incidents.
Jacobs had pleaded guilty on April 14, 2022.
According to court docu- ments, on March 31, 2021, Jacobs used a firearm and physical force to carjack a ve- hicle in Safety Harbor.
On April 18, 2021, Ja- cobs kidnapped two individ- uals at gunpoint in Tampa

and took their vehicle. After releasing those victims, Ja- cobs abandoned their vehi- cle at another location in Tampa, where Jacobs car- jacked another vehicle, again by brandishing a firearm.
Dover
Police have arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of another man. The shooting took place early Friday morning.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers responded to the 8100 block of N. 17th Street and E. Sitka in reference to a shooting that took place at 4:42 a.m. The caller told police that he and his roommate had gotten into an altercation and the room- mate had been shot. When they arrived, they observed the dead man sitting on the couch in the garage with an apparent gunshot wound.
The caller, identified as 54-year-old Kennith Phillips, of Tampa, was lo- cated inside of the residence and complied with officers on

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder that has left one per- son dead. The death took place in Dover on July 18th, at approximately 10:07 p.m.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 3000 block of Al Simmons Road in Dover in reference to a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female deceased and an adult male who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. The man is in stable condition at this time and is cooperating with detectives, who are still trying to determine a motive for the shooting.
The Sheriff’s Office did not release any additional infor- mation.

A search warrant was con- ducted on the residence. After a review of all the evidence, Phillips was charged with second-degree murder. He was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail.
The investigation is con- tinuing.
For Stalking And
Sex Offense
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for stalking a woman and exposing himself to her. Detectives say Yandri Castillo Aller, 32, would al- legedly enter the victim’s backyard and look into her home through the windows.
Concerned about this be- havior, the victim installed security cameras. On July 17, 2022, the video shows Castillo Aller in the vic- tim’s yard overnight, expos- ing himself and masturbating.
Castillo Aller was ar- rested on July 19, 2022, and is facing charges of stalking and exposure of sexual or- gans.

Detectives do not have reason to believe Castillo Aller has done this in the past. Still, we ask anyone else who has any information on any criminal behavior by Yandri Castillo Aller to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247- 8200.
