‘Stand Your Ground’ Law Workshop Planned
Man Indicted On Tax Fraud Charges

Recently, a Miami judge ruled that the current “Stand Your Ground” Law is uncon- stitutional. However, his rul- ing only applies to cases in his jurisdiction.
In keeping with the con- troversy surrounding the law, and other issues of concern, Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren will address the subject in a community workshop to ad- dress the issue. The work- shop will take place on Thursday, July 20th, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. It will be held at the Bloomingdale Re- gional Public Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Avenue, in Valrico.

The U. S. Attorney’s Office, for the Middle District of Florida has indicted a man on tax fraud charges. He is facing a maximum of 20 years in prison if he is convicted.
Tedderick Fields, 40, of Lake Wales, was charged with 3 counts of filing false claims with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), 1 count of wire fraud, and 1 count of aggra- vated identity theft in connec- tion with income tax fraud.
According to the indict- ment, Fields filed false income tax returns in his name from 2011 through 2013, claiming a $400,000 refund in 2012. He also filed a false tax return claiming a refund of $6,546 in

the name of another individual and used that person’s per- sonal identifying information for the tax return.

They can also share sug- gestions with Attorney Warren. The workshop will also be available via live stream on Facebook@SAI13TH for those who are unable to at- tend.
The Jackson Heights Neighborhood Association and Crime Watch will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 18th at 6:30 PM at the Jackson Heights NFL YET Center, 3310 E. Lake Ave., 33610
The guest speaker will be Jerry Williams, City of Tampa Code Enforcement
Plans will be discussed for the community clean-up that is sched- uled for Saturday, August 5th, 8AM - 12Noon.
We will gather at the Jackson Heights NFL YET Center. Light breakfast provided.
