Detectives and officers re- sponded to Express Auto Re- pair, 3222 N. 40th Street, in reference to reports of armed individuals loitering on the premises. When police arrived, they were unable to locate the owner or any employees. Sev- eral people were on the prem- ises who told police they were customers.
During their inspection, po- lice located a 2012 Nissan Al- tima that had been reported stolen to the Temple Terrace Police Department, and a 1996 Buick Park Avenue that had
been reported stolen in Tampa. The Buick had been used in a carjacking robbery, police said.
They also located a 14-foot aluminum trailer that had been reported stolen, and sev- eral other items. Police said that because of the known stolen items having been found on the property, the business is considered a Chop Shop.
Detectives executed a search warrant on the property and seized all of the property as ev- idence. The items seized also included approximately 85 0ther vehicles.
The property that had been reported stolen will be re- turned to its owners. The in- vestigation is continuing.
