Jane Castor plans to sign an executive order
making Juneteenth a city holiday after the Tampa City Council approves the mayor’s proposed budget by the September 30 deadline.
The announcement was made by the mayor’s Chief of Staff John Bennett.
Earlier this year
Councilman Or- lando Gudes asked for the budget to in- clude allowances for city offices and opera- tions to be closed on June 19th.
