Crime Teenagers Charged With Manslaughter
Teenager Fatally Wounded While Visiting Friend
Two teenagers have been charged in connection with a traffic fatality. The incident took place on July 24, 2022, shortly after 3 a.m.
According to the Tampa Police Department, it hap- pened in the 5600 block of Adamo Drive. Police have ar- rested 17-year-old Austin Lewis, and 18-year-old Kristopher Trenker.
Police said the teenagers were arrested in connection with a DUI-related traffic fa- tality that ended the life of a 16-year-old who was a pas- senger in Lewis’ vehicle.
Lewis was reportedly driving a 2021 red Kia Sorento SX and Trenker was driving a 2004 gray In- finiti G35. The two vehicles were traveling eastbound on Adamo Drive, when they en- gaged in an illegal street race near 50th Street, approaching 120 miles per hour.
A 15-year-old teenager was wounded by gunfire while visiting a friend. The shooting took place Saturday afternoon in the 4200 block of 12th Street, South, in St. Pe- tersburg.
According to police, the teenager was visiting a friend when the shooting took place.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. The teenager has been
identified as Trill Tewan Wright, of St. Petersburg.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing. There was not ad- ditional information at press time, police said.
In Traffic Fatality

Another vehicle entered the path of Lewis’ vehicle. He reportedly swerved to avoid striking it. Lewis’ ve- hicle entered the median, struck a cement culvert, be- came airborne, and rolled several times.
An unidentified 16-year- old rear passenger in Lewis’ vehicle was partially ejected from the vehicle during the accident. He sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Tampa Police DUI and Traffic Homicide units re- sponded to the scene and suspected that Lewis was impaired, and obtained a warrant for a blood draw. Lewis’ blood was tested by FDLE, with results showing a blood alcohol level of .08.
On August 10, both Lewis and Trenker were arrested. Lewis was charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide.
Trenker was charged with vehicular homicide, op- erating an unregistered vehi- cle, and driving with a suspended or revoked li- cense.
Two Facing Murder Charge In Death Of Child

Two people were charged in connection with the death of a child. Both are facing first-degree murder charges.
According to the St. Pe- tersburg Police Department, detectives arrested Monica Williams, 33, and 25-year- old Daquan Lindsey, for the murder of Brandy Crews. They were the care- givers of the three-year-old girl.
She was brought to the hospital on August 9, unre- sponsive, with severe head injuries.
Further investigation showed that she had several cuts, burns, and injuries all over her body in various stages of healing. She died from her injuries on August

also face child abuse and child neglect charges for a young boy in their care. That child’s injuries are not life- threatening. The child has been removed from the home and is receiving treatment.
Two additional children under the age of 14 have also been removed from the home. There were a total of 4 children in the home.
This is an ongoing investi- gation. Due to the confiden- tial nature of the case, no information that can identify the remaining children will be released, including the ad- dress of the victims and the relationship of the caregivers to the children, police said.
