Ten Reasons To Vote
Since 35% of Republicans whose names will be on the ballot this year will be “full blown” election deniers, and Trump-backed cult members, voters must show up at the polls in even greater numbers than they did when President Barack Obama ran for office. Our lives and our “nation’s tradition of nonpartisan elections administra- tion, acceptance of election results, and the orderly transfer of power depend upon an unequaled turnout. Many Republican candidates for governors, state at- torney and Congress are running for offices that will en- able them to affect the election results and the certification of electors.
Among the ten issues you should remember and be aware of as to why you should vote are the following:
(1) Few Republicans have publicly said the 2020 elec- tion was valid, nor have they criticized any of Trump’s be- havior or his role in the January 6, 2021 attack on our nation’s Capitol, (2) Republicans criticized the members of Congress who planned or attended the memorial for law enforcement officers killed or wounded during the January 6th insurrection, (3) Republicans in Congress who voted to impeach Trump face challenges by Trump loyalists election deniers, and January 6th insurrection participants. (4) Trump backed candidates won state mid-term elections in Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Penn- sylvania, Washington, and Kansas. (5) Nearly half of Re- publican candidates for House, Senate, Governor, Attorney General or Secretary of State slots who will ap- pear on the ballots for this fall’s election have either questioned or denied the legitimacy of the 2020 election. (6) PEW Research found that of a group of 1148 Republi- cans polled, 76% of those polled either partially or fully denied the 2020 election results, (7) Only 6% of Republi- cans fully accepted Biden’s victory. (8) In a poll of 340 Republican candidates, 120 (35%) were election deniers and had won their party’s nomination. (9) At least 4 Re- publican candidates for office participated in the Janu- ary 6th attack on the Capitol. (10) If you don’t vote it will be possible for Trump to win a second term unless he is charged with crimes, judged guilty and jailed.
Keeping these issues in mind, you need to walk, crawl, or run to the polls and mail your ballot no later than a week before election date. Our nation fate is in your vote. Vote on or before August 23rd.
