Kurtis Blow Reveals He's Hospitalized At UCLA Medical Center
John Singleton's Mother In Possession Of Will And $35 Million On The Line
John Singleton had a plan in place for his death, because reporters have learned he left a will, and that's a monumental devel- opment in what appears to be a family war that erupted while he lay dying in the hos- pital.
Sources with direct knowl- edge stated, John's mother, Shelia Ward, is in posses- sion of the will and it will soon be filed with the probate court. Shelia handled all of business affairs, which in- cludes the last will and testa- ment.
As reported, last week Cleopatra, one of John's 7 children, accused Shelia of trying to corral his assets and squeeze out his kids. Cleopatra launched her at- tack after Shelia filed legal

docs last week to get a tem- porary conservatorship while John was unable to make decisions. The legal fight ended when John died.
If the 51-year-old, famed director had died without a will, Shelia would get noth-
ing from his reported $35 million estate, because under California law the assets would be divided equally among his 7 children. But, since there's a will, John de- cides who gets what, and who gets nothing.
Given the business rela- tionship between John and Shelia, it's a safe bet she's the executor of the will, which surely would not please Cleopatra.
It's unclear when John signed the will, but it's not out of the question someone might try and mount a chal- lenge that the will should be invalid because of undue in- fluence or mental incapacity -- this came up after Michael Jackson died. Im- portant to note ... most of these challenges fail.
LOS ANGELES, CA – Pio- neering Hip Hop artist Kur- tis Blow had quite the health scare in 2016 when he suf- fered a heart attack. Now, Blow has revealed he’s cur- rently at UCLA Medical Cen- ter where doctors will perform a procedure to repair an aortic artery, a condition that resulted from a recent trip overseas.
Blow shared the news via Instagram on Tuesday (April 30).
“To all my friends and family,” he wrote alongside a throwback photo. “I am in the hospital at UCLA Medical. I am preparing for an aortic ar- tery repair procedure tomor- row morning.
“The procedure will stabi- lize the artery from further damage caused by the hematoma I contacted from my recent travels to China. Dr Kwon is an incredible surgeon with hundreds of these procedures under his belt. I trust that God will use him as a tool of success to-

Crips And Bloods Talk Unifying Following Nipsey Hussle's Murder
LOS ANGELES, CA – Nipsey Hussle’s March 31 shooting death took the wind out of Hip Hop’s proverbial sails. But out of that unex- pected tragedy, there’s re- portedly peace brewing between the Bloods and Crips gangs.
The death of Neighbor- hood Nip, who was affili- ated with the Rolling 60s Crips, is proving to be a cata- lyst for change. According to The Guardian, South Los An- geles’ rival gangs came to- gether for the first time in decades to discuss putting an

end to the violence.
Over the past four weeks,
L. A. gang members and
community organizers have attempted to use his passing to discuss possible truces be- tween neighborhood gangs that have engaged in gun vio- lence for years.
While many remain skep- tical that any actual change is possible, there are plenty of people who are confident if anyone can inspire peace, it’s Nip.
“This young man did more in 33 years than most have done in a lifetime,” Minister Tony Muhammad, a Na- tion of Islam leader who knew the rapper, said.
'Empire' Renewed For Season 6 Without Jussie Smollett ... For Now
FOX’s Empire is returning for a sixth season, but Jussie Smollett won’t be rejoining his castmates when produc- tion resumes. Although Smollett remains under con- tract, his character Jamal Lyon isn’t being factored into the show’s plans.
Smollett was written out of the fifth season’s last two episodes after being charged with falsifying a police report, which claimed he was the vic- tim of an attack in Chicago. Prosecutors ended up dis- missing all charges against him, but the embattled actor’s reputation was severely dam- aged.
Still, the decision to extend Smollett’s option means there’s a possibility he could return to Empire.
Together we will move into

our sixth season as the entire Empire family should.”
Empire’s fifth season finale is scheduled to air on May 8. The series is FOX’s second- highest rated drama in 2018- 19.
