Dear Friends of the Tampa Bay Community
December 18, 2015 marked the end of an era for me. For 63 years, I have been involved in the daily opera- tions of the Wilson Funeral Home of Tampa, Florida. I was there from its inception. I have decided to step away from the business and will pursue other interests and endeavors.
I am still of sound mind and vigor, though I concede that I step a little more slowly that I did when my late hus- band, Clarence (CP) and his older brother, Sumner (SJ) along with my sister-in- law, Helen, and I began sprucing up our first site at 3001 - 29th Street.
The venture began in Sep- tember, 1952. We held the dedication on December 7. I am the last Wilson associ- ated with the business. I leave with love for all and malice toward none.
I am eternally grateful to
the people with whom I have had a business relationship, who entrusted the care of your deceased loved ones to our professional service.
I am fully confident that you were treated with dignity and that our service met or exceeded your expectations. I am most thankful for those who have shown me love and respect through the interven- ing years.
I am especially grateful for the numerous people I have come to cherish as close friends. I am a Deaconess in the African Methodist Epis- copal Church, and a member of several organizations to keep me busy and active, es- pecially the ministries at my church (St. Luke AME). I can pursue such activity with purpose, but at my leisure.
Thank you, Tampa Bay; I am grateful. When you see me out and about, please say “hello”!
