#BlackLivesMatter activist DeRay McKesson briefly took over Stephen Colbert’s hosting seat on the “Late Show” recently when he dis- cussed an array of issues in- cluding the mission of the movement, the current civil rights movement and the 2016 presidential campaign.
DeRay also used the seg- ment to school the talk show host on his white privilege.
McKesson, named one of Fortune magazine’s “The World’s 50 Greatest Leaders” of 2015, came on as a guest to discuss his new anti-police vi- olence initiative Campaign Zero, and why “All Lives Mat- ter” is disruptive to the #BlackLivesMatter move- ment.
“You know, it’s such a dis- traction,” McKesson said. “If ‘All Lives Matter’ was true,

Following the accusations earlier this month, Brown re- futed Gutierrez’s claims in a

Born a slave in Virginia, Turner was taught to read as a child and grew up to become a preacher. He had an affable re- lationship with his master, Samuel (Armie Hammer), and was able to marry a slave, Cherry (Aja Naomi King). But slave abuse increased as plantation owners became more paranoid, including an in- creasingly savage Samuel.
No longer able to justify their world through Bible verses, Turner ignites a slave rebellion, ultimately leading a 48-hour bloody attack.
Peter Thomas has been ac- cused of assaulting a man in his Charlotte, North Carolina bar. The husband of “Real House- wives of Atlanta” costar Cyn- thia Bailey is said to have attacked Brandon Patrick Link, 45, at his Sports One venue early on Jan. 24.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report indicates Link was hospitalized for minor in- juries after he claimed he was “assaulted” by another individ- ual. He later revealed that his alleged perpetrator was Thomas.
Police at the scene deter- mined that “no assault oc- curred,” however, officials are attempting to serve Peter with a criminal summons for simple assault.
Meanwhile, Thomas, 55, says Link was so drunk, he was tossed out of the bar by security, and then hurt himself by slip- ping on ice.
