Summer VPK Program Enrollment Underway
The enrollment period for the Summer VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Program began last month. However, there are some changes en- rolling in the program have taken place.
Parents can enroll their children in the year-round pro- gram or in the summer pro- gram. It is administered locally by the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County.
Parents are now required to complete applications on- line. The online system for reg- istering children for the 2016 Summer Program and the 2016-2017 School Year.
To be eligible for the up-
coming Summer 2016 VPK Program, the child must have been born between September 2, 2010 and September 1, 2011.
To apply online, the par- ents must have an active email address that can be checked frequently; proof of the child’s date of birth (digital copy); proof of Florida residency (dig- ital copy); access to a scanner or digital camera to be able to send digital copies of the doc-
uments (can use a smart phone); the child’s Social Secu- rity number; and access to a printer to print out the VPK Certificate of Eligibility.
Parents needing assistance with the online application process can take the informa- tion to a VPK site.
The school locations are: Alexander, Bailey, Bellamy, Bing, Boyette Springs, Chiles, Cypress Creek, B. C. Graham, Just, Mitchell, Muller, Potter, Schmidt, Shaw, Sheehy, or Sul- phur Springs Elementary.
