Stephen Curry Wins MVP For
Al Horford Wants To Stay But Hawks 'Have Some Big Decisions To Make'
AL HORFORD
Despite being swept in the playoffs for the second straight season at the hands of Le- Bron James and the Cava- liers, Mike Budenholzer doesn’t believe the Atlanta Hawks should break up their core.
Budenholzer, the Hawks’ coach and president, wants to re-sign free agents Al Hor- ford and Kent Bazemore.
“Losing to Cleveland twice is tough,” Budenholzer said after the Hawks met Monday for the final time this postsea- son. “But to the fan base, to people who think [about mak- ing major changes], if we want to find a way to beat, whether it be Cleveland or whoever the great teams in the league or our conference are, blowing it up is probably not the way to beat a team like Cleveland.”
Boxer Adrien Broner Explains Why He Did Not Sign With Roc Nation
Adrien Broner in a recent interview.
Adrien Broner is not one to be shy when it comes to talk- ing about money. The boxing star known as The Problem even adopted the phrase “About Billions” as his personal brand. In an inter- view with AllHipHop.com, AB explains how his goal of reaching 10 figures prevented him from signing a $40 million deal with Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports.
“I’m gonna make more than that,” responded Broner when asked about rejecting the Roc offer. “Take $40 million to stop me from making a bil- lion?”
The Cincinnati native con- tinued, “It’s a difference when you ain’t never touched no money or you don’t see what you can do. But I really see and I know what I’m going to do.”
Broner did admit he could have worded his public state- ments about not signing to Roc Nation differently. He later apologized for the comment.
Warriors' Stephen Curry And Klay Thompson Clinch Series With Game 5 Win
Second Straight Season; First Unanimous Vote In History
With a 125-121 win in Game 5 of their Western Conference semifinal on Wednesday night, the defending-cham- pion Golden State Warriors proved to be too much for Damian Lillard, C. J. McCollum and the rest of the Portland Trail Blazers, closing the lid on a series that was much closer than the 4-1 edge would indi- cate.
The Blazers — who were counted out before the season began after losing four of five starters from last season — stuck to their season-long nar- rative by not going down with- out a fight. With 12 lead changes and nine ties over the course of the game, they pestered Golden Sate up until the final buzzer behind 16 fourth-quarter points from McCollum and a handful of clutch shots down the stretch.
But on the night of Stephen Curry's unani-

mously-won MVP ceremony, the Warriors had no plans to lose this game.
"We really needed that en- ergy from the home crowd to just find a way to have some huge offensive possessions and get some stops down the stretch," Curry said.
Klay Thompson led all scorers with 33 points on 13- for-17 shooting from the field and 6-for-9 from three-point range. Curry closely trailed with 29 points on 10-for-20 from the field and 5-for-11 from beyond the arc to go along with 11 assists.

Terrible Neck Injury Forces Seahawks WR Ricardo Lockette To Retire
On Relationship With Nick
When Seattle Seahawks re- ceiver Ricardo Lockette fell to the turf in Dallas and didn't move last season, and when he stayed down for a long time afterward, you knew he had just suffered a serious injury.
As it turns out, the hit ended Lockette's career.
Lockette, who will turn 30 on May 21, will announce his retirement on Wednesday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said. It's a tough blow for Lockette, who worked himself onto the Sea- hawks' roster as an undrafted free agent, only to have his ca-
Young After Leaked Video
Los Angeles Lakers point guard D'Angelo Russell isn't sure his relationship with teammate Nick Young will recover after a video of the latter discussing possible infidelity leaked in March.
Russell secretly recorded the video involving Young, who is engaged to rapper Iggy Azalea. As seen in the video, courtesy of TMZ Sports, and the No. 2 overall selection in the 2015 NBA draft was asked about the sit- uation last weekend:

Rising MMA Star Loses Leg After Struck By Hit And Run Driver
Floyd Mayweather: Rumors You've Been Hearing Are Rumors I Started
A rising MMA star report- edly needed to have his leg amputated after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Florida while crossing the street Sunday morning.
Jordan Parsons, 25, was wearing headphones while crossing a highway in Delray Beach just after 12:30 a.m. when a silver Range Rover struck him and drove off, according to a release from Delray Beach Police Department.
Investigators don’t know who had the right of way, but what is known is that the driver hit the Bellator feath- erweight and fled the scene.
After the vehicle drove off, a nearby police officer ar- rived on scene and applied pressure to a severe leg wound until Delray Beach
Jordan Parsons is in a coma.
Fire Rescue took the ailing athlete to Delray Medical Center.
In the aftermath of the ac- cident, a GoFundMe page sprung up to support the young athlete.
“Jordan is currently in critical condition. He has lost his leg and will most likely never compete again.
Floyd Mayweather gave credence to reports of a poten- tial fight with Conor McGre- gor, telling FightHype.com on Saturday that a bout versus the UFC star was "possible."
Mayweather made his comments in Las Vegas, be- fore Canelo Alvarez's sixth- round knockout of Amir Khan. He was asked by the website about the talk he might fight an MMA fighter.
"It's possible. It's possible. There was a name that was shot at me. But the rumors that y'all have been hearing [are] the rumors I started," Mayweather said in video. "It may not be a rumor. Keep your fingers crossed. It may be a boxer versus an MMA fighter. So we just don't know."
Mayweather, 39, didn't mention McGregor by name, but The Sun reported last week that Mayweather and McGregor were discussing a fight against one another, a re-

port which UFC president Dana White shot down, telling Yahoo! Sports, "It's not true; it's just a tabloid story."
The 27-year-old McGre- gor, perhaps responding to Mayweather's comments, on Sunday tweeted a mock promotional poster for a fight between himself and May- weather.
Mayweather said Satur- day that if he does return to the ring, he'll expect a huge payday.
"Every time I go out there and compete, my number is, of course, $100 million or bet- ter. I feel I can demand that," he said.
