Directors An- thony Russo and Joe Russo should be applauded for adding Black actors as super- heroes. The final scene has a nice twist to it that makes this Avengers film a must- see! Keanu - Rell (Jordan Peel) and cousin, Clarence
(Keegan-Michael Key) join forces to find Rell’s kitten that was stolen by thieves who work for a drug dealer named Cheddar (Method Man). The guys must go un- derground as gangsters to get the kitten back. Must see for laughs. Made $15M. (Budget $15M). ***1⁄2
The Huntsman: Win- ter’s War - Eric (Chris Hemsworth) and fellow war- rior Sara (Jessica Chastan), members of the Huntsmen army raised to protect the Winter queen, Freya (Emily Blunt) from the wicked queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron). Universal will lose big with this franchise fairy- tale movie. They need to make around $325M to break even. The special ef- fects still make you want to see this 2 hrs. / 10 min. fan- tasy film. If not, wait for it on DVD. Made $40M. /Foreign $105M. (Budget $115M). **1⁄2
Barbershop: The Next Cut - Directed by Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man Holiday), the Chicago south-side com- munity has taken a turn for the worse between random killings and the gangs. The crew at Calvin’s Barbershop (Ice Cube, Cedric ‘The Enter- tainer’, Regina Hall, J. B. Smoove, Common and Nicki Minaj) come together to
bring peace to their neigh- borhood. This is the best of the Barbershop films, be- cause the film tackles all the social issues. Really enjoyed it! Made $48M. (Budget N/A). ****
Jungle Book - Directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man), this movie was about a boy, Mowgli (Neel Sethi) being raised by a family of wolves, was forced to leave his home when a fearsome tiger, Shere Khan (Idris Elba) wants to kill him. Guided by a no-non- sense panther (Ben Kingsley) and a free-spirited bear (Bill Murray), Mowgli learns a valuable life lessons on how to survive on his epic jour- ney. The special effects mak- ing the animals look real were truly amazing. Made $287M/ Foreign $494M. (Budget $175M). ****
The Boss - A billionaire (Melissa McCarthy) is sent to prison after she’s caught in- sider trading. When she re- turns from prison to rebrand herself, not everyone she messed over is so quick to forgive and forget. If you like the McCarthy style of com- edy, then this film is for you. Made $59M. (Budget $29M).
***Eye In The Sky - Col. Katherine Powell (Helen Mirren) is in command of an operation to capture terror- ists in Kenya. Her mission es- calates when a girl enters the kill zone and the drone oper- ator (Aaron Paul) has to pull the trigger. What would you do? Excellent suspenseful film. Mirren should be nomi- nated for an Oscar as best ac- tress. Made $17M. (Budget N/A). ****
Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice: Batman (Ben Affleck) sets out to de- stroy Superman (Henry Cav- ill) because he feels the world has left Superman unchecked with super hero deeds. Meanwhile, villain, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) is creating a super monster called Doomsday to destroy Metropolis. Critics gave this film bad reviews, but I can’t see how! This film was ac- tion-packed and very violent with a shocking ending. 2 hrs. /30 mins. long. Also starring Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne. Check it out in 3D-IMAX. Made $327M/Foreign $540M. NOTICE OF RULEMAKING
The School Board of Hillsborough County Policies
At its regular meeting of June 28, 2016, The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, will conduct a public hearing to be held in the Board auditorium, located at Raymond O. Shelton School Administrative Center, 901 E. Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa, regarding proposed revisions to School Board policies, after which the Board will consider the Superintendent’s recommendation to adopt the proposed revisions to the policies to be effective June 29, 2016. Other than the cost of advertisement, there is no economic impact.
Pursuant to the Board’s Bylaws, if an individual believes he or she is affected by these proposed policies, that individual may present argument or evidence on all issues relating to the proposed rule at the hearing to be held pursuant to this notice. Any person wishing to present argument or evidence must, within twenty-one (21) days of the date of this notice, submit a written request to the Superintendent at 901 E. Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa.
