George Zimmerman, the man who fatally shot 17- year-old Trayvon Martin in Florida, is selling the gun he used.
The 9mm pistol, which the neighborhood watch volun- teer fired at Martin on Feb. 26, 2012, will be auctioned off Thursday on website gun- broker.com.
“The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to de- fend my life and end the bru- tal attack from Trayvon Martin,” Zimmerman wrote on the auction site.
More than four years have passed since that fateful en- counter in Sanford, Florida. Martin was heading back to
a relative’s house after buying snacks at a convenience store when he was shot by Zim- merman. On July 13, 2013, a Florida jury found Zim- merman not guilty of sec- ond-degree murder and manslaughter.
Zimmerman said he has received several offers for the firearm, from the Smithson- ian Institution in Washing- ton, D.C., to individuals whose plans for the guns did- n’t sit well with him, he said.
“This is a piece of Ameri- can History,” he wrote on the site. “It has been featured in several publications and in current University text books.”

LOUISVILLE, KY --- A Kentucky mother was shot and killed outside her apartment complex on the morning of Mother’s Day — right in front of her 8-year-old son, who had a gift ready for her.
Angelina Pressley, 27, died around 3 a.m. after the shooting in front of her home in Louisville, po- lice said.
Police and family members said she was on her way home from a Derby party when a man walked across a parking lot, approached her and fired several shots before run-
Pressley’s son — who witnessed the entire deadly encounter.
“He made the comment that his favorite thing in the world to do was to spend time with his mother, and he was exceptionally excited that night because he had bought her a necklace that he planned to give her on Mother’s Day,” Louisville Police Detective Todd Kessinger said.
The boy is now in the care of other family members. Police have made no arrests and named no sus- pects, and the motive for the Mother’s Day murder is unknown.
