Two Grant Writing Workshops Planned
The Center for Non-Profit and Community Development and the National Institute for Strategic and Tactical Planning will host free professional grant-writing workshops. The workshops will take place on two separate dates.
The first workshop will take place on Tuesday, May 26th, and the second workshop will take place on Wednesday, May 27th. Both workshops will be held from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., and both will take place
at the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, 1002 E. Palm Avenue.
The same material will be covered in both workshops.
The National Institute for Strategic and Tactical Planning workshops will describe the different types of grants avail- able; describe the different types of grantors; identify re- search tools available to those seeking grants; describe the fundamental of grant writing; describe the proposal writing
process; describe the concept paper, letter of intent, and let- ter of inquiry process, and identify grant terms.
Seating is limited and any- one wishing to attend the workshops must email wefind- grants@aol.com to confirm a seat and to obtain an invitation and workshop packet. No one will be admitted without an in- vitation.

Our Military Men And Women
Enlistees Complete Basic Training In U. S. Air Force
Three individuals who enlisted in the U. S. Air Force have completed basic training. They participated in the respective graduation ceremonies at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, in San Antonio, Texas.
Airman 1st Class Mariette M. Adams, Reserve Airman Desiree Bermudez, and Airman 1st Class Jamael M. Couzens completed an intensive eight-week program that in- cluded training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
They also earned four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Airman 1st Class Adams is the wife of Landon Q. Adams. She is also the daughter of Lenora A. Gordon, of
Williamsburg, Michigan.
Airman 1st Class Adams also graduated in 2013 from Tra-
verse City Central High School, in Traverse City, Michigan, and she earned an Associate Degree in 2014, from Northwestern Michigan College, in Traverse City, Michigan.
Reserve Airman Bermudez is the daughter of Julio A. Bermudez and Carmen M. Gonzalez, of Winter Haven, and sister of Nashira Bermudez, of Tampa, Camille Wilson and Raiza Bermudez.
She is a 2006 graduate of Winter Haven High School, in Win- ter Haven.
Airman 1st Class Couzens is the daughter of Sheila and stepdaughter of Ronnie Murray, of Tampa, daughter-in-law of Darlene Sanders, of Jacksonville, and wife of Simone Sanders.
She is a 2006 graduate of Middleton High School, and earned a Bachelor's degree in 2010 from Fisk University, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Commissioned As 2nd Lt. In U. S. Army
Joseph B. Meddaugh was recently commissioned as a Sec- ond Lieutenant in the U. S. Army after successfully completing the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program. He also graduated from Truman State University in Missouri with a Bachelor’s degree.
Second Lieutenant Meddaugh will be branched to a spe- cific corps in the Army to serve on active duty or in the Army Na- tional Guard or Army Reserve. He will attend an officer basic course relating to his or her particular military occupational spe- cialty or job. Afterward, the officer will complete advanced train- ing by attending basic officer leadership courses for career progression purposes.
The ROTC curriculum prepares students with the tools, train- ing and experiences to help cadets succeed as effective leaders in any competitive environment.
Second Lieutenant Meddaugh is the son of Julie M. Meddaugh and Steven G. Meddaugh, brother of Matthew S. and brother-in-law of Cristy Meddaugh, all of Lebanon, Mo.
He graduated from Robinson High School in 2007.
