Two Men Wounded In Drive-By Shooting
Man Accused Of Robbing Woman Of $4.00
Ends In Murder
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports that an 18-year-old man was arrested Friday for robbing a woman who was collecting aluminum cans on the side of the road of $4.00.
Deputies said Kellie N. Montieh, 37, was riding her bicycle along U. S. 301 and Symmes Road in Riverview at 7:30 a. m. and had stopped to collect some cans.
When she hopped back on her bike, deputies said a man walked up and grabbed her and tried to push her off the bike. He ended up taking Montieth’s wallet and pushed her to the ground. He then ran south on U. S. 301.

Law enforcement officers responded to a 9-1-1 call last Thursday in reference to a fight. When they arrived, they discovered the man who lived at the home was dead.
According to a spokesper- son for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the call for help was received around 9 p.m. The caller told police that several people with involved in an altercation.
When deputies responded to 1625 Bent Pine Way, in Brandon, they located an unidentified woman in the house who was not injured. However, the male occupant was dead.

additional information about the murder available at press time.
However, the spokesper- son said the residence was being used as a grow house and while no arrests have been made, they do have sus- pects. The investigation is continuing.

utes later they found Kevin Henderson a short distance from the robbery. Montieth positively identified Hender- son as the man who robbed her, deputies said. After searching Henderson, they found a knife and Monti- eth’s wallet containing the $4.00.
Henderson is in jail with his bail set at $8,000.
Officers Injured During Suspect’s Attempted Arrest
Tampa Police said a group of young men were walking west on Palifox just west of 15th Street Saturday night when a car approached them behind.
Police said when the car got close to the group, a pas- senger fired several shots from the car toward them, injuring two The car, described only as a small black 4-door sedan, sped away.
Wounded, but not suffer- ing life threatening injuries in the shooting were Marquis A. Hodge, 19, and Kaidlee E. Auguste, 34.
The incident is under in- vestigation by police, and no motive for the shooting is known at this time.
Deputies Search For Man Accused Of Impersonating
Polk County Sheriff’s deputies are asking for help in identifying a man they said is impersonating a law enforce- ment officer.
On Friday, deputies said a man approached a victim in the area of Johnson Avenue and Kalogridis Road, and re- portedly told the victim he was a narcotics officer and accused the victim of selling drugs.
The suspect reportedly told the victim to empty his pock- ets and stay put until a K-9 Unit arrived. After 45 minutes, the victim bean to realize the suspect was not an officer.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid- 20s, 5’4” tall, weighing 180 pounds with short hair and a goatee. He was last seen driv- ing a silver Ford Taurus or Buick LeSabre.

11 Arrests Made In Raid On Bottle Clubs
On Thursday night, a pair of Temple Terrace Police offi- cers were injured when they tried to arrest a suspect on an outstanding warrant.
Police said officers re- sponded to the 8500 block of Lucuya Way at 4:40 p. m. and tried to arrest Michael John Duggins, Jr., 25, on outstanding warrants on charges of grand theft, deal- ing in stolen property and de- frauding a pawnbroker.
During their attempt to arrest Duggins, police said he carjacked his girlfriend’s vehicle and fled, striking offi- cers and an unoccupied po- lice vehicle.

pital for their injuries. Duggins was found in
the 13600 block of North 21st Street and arrested at 11:25 p. m. He is being held without bond on several charges, in- cluding two counts of aggra- vated battery on a law enforcement officer.

Early Friday morning, Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s deputies raided a pair of after-hours bottle clubs, and 11 people were arrested.
At 3:30 a. m, deputies and agents with the Florida Divi- sion of Alcoholic Beverage and Tobacco and the Florida Parole and Probation, served search warrants on Glo Ultra Lounge, 8831 West Hillsbor- ough Avenue and Til Dawn, 8205 North Dale Mabry.
Bottle clubs are licensed businesses that can let pa- trons bring in their own alco- hol, but are not allowed to sell liquor.
Glo’s owner/manager Carlos Guzman, 51, and Til Dawn’s manager, William Rich, 44, were arrested and charged with selling alcohol without a license.

At Til Dawn, 50 bottles of alcoholic beverages were seized.
According to reports, both businesses have a his- tory of drug and prostitution activity, as well as violent crimes. On February 28th, a patron at Glo was shot and killed by a bouncer.
Arrested at Glo Ultra along with Guzman were: Rolando Clemente, 24; Luz Maria Perez, 42; William Perez-Quinones, 42; Angel Pacheco, 33, Christopher Kenney, 32, Kristina Sanchez, 26, and Kevin McKissack, 33.
Arrested at Til Dawn along with Rich were Andre Wilson, 48, and Ka- reem R. Nurse-Brockett, 33.
