An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting. The incident oc- curred Wednesday evening at the intersection of E. Busch Blvd. and N. 46th Street.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Tampa police re- sponded to the intersection in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, they discov- ered a man suffering from a gunshot to the head. The vic- tim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation and with information gathered from witnesses, detectives identified Steven Saviras Williams as a suspect in the shooting. He was found at a different location and taken into custody.
Earlier this week, a federal judge sentenced a man to prison in connection with a theft case. He pleaded guilty April 5, 2018.
U. S. Judge James Moody, Jr., sentenced Tau- rence Creary, 47, of Tampa, to five years in prison. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy, receiving stolen government property, and aggravated identity theft.
According to court docu- ments, Creary obtained sev- eral federal income tax returns that had been stolen en route to the intended taxpayers who were identity theft victims. He and others then sold or at- tempted to sell the checks to third parties.
Investigators said the checks ranged in value from $4,000 to more than $100,000. The total value of the stolen checks was more than $398,000.

Mary S. Scriven sentenced his co-defendant, identified as 48-year-old Xavier Williams, to 3 years in prison for his role in the scheme. Williams was accused of re- ceiving checks ranging in value from $4,000 to $128,000, with a combined value of more than $297,000.
Williams pleaded guilty on May 19, 2017.

the Hillsborough County Jail and charged with discharging a firearm from a vehicle. His bond was set at $7,500.
The victim was described as an adult man in his early 40s. Police said Williams and the victim knew each other. No additional information was available at press time.
CELL PHONE SUSPECT
A cab driver is recovering after being shot during an at- tempted robbery. The offense took place at the intersection of N. Nebraska Avenue and E. Se- ward Wednesday.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the victim, Dieunal Cherisca, 43, of Tampa, had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening in- juries. The shooting took place at approximately 11:25 p.m.
Cherisca reportedly told police that a man attempted to rob him at gunpoint. The two men struggled and Cherisca was shot. The suspect then fled the scene.
Police established a perime- ter around the area and located a possible suspect nearby. Based on their investigation, Stephon Dye, 19, was found hiding in a nearby business. An encounter with a K9 Unit re- sulted in Dye being injured. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment before being taken to the Hillsbor- ough County jail.
He will be charged with ag- gravated battery with great bodily harm and robbery, po- lice said.

Police Search For Man
Linked To Shooting
Detectives are searching for a suspect linked to a shoot- ing. The shooting took place in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven Store, 1930 N. Dale Mabry Highway.
According to Tampa Police, around 2 a.m., last Saturday, a man observed another man as- saulting a female. The man at- tempted to verbally intervene. At that time, the suspect, de- scribed as a Hispanic between 30 and 40 years of age, ap- proached the good Samaritan and attempted to punch him, but was unsuccessful.
The good Samaritan was successful in defending him- self and the altercation esca- lated.
The Hispanic man is said to
have gone to his truck, re- trieved a gun, and approached the other man. The suspect then shot the man in the left shoulder.
After the shooting, the His- panic man and the unidenti- fied woman fled in a red, newer model Ford pickup truck. The victim was trans- ported to a local hospital, where he was treated for non- life threatening injuries.

Man Wanted For Exposing Himself
Detectives are searching for a man who reportedly exposed himself. The first incident was reported on January 29th and the most recent took place on February 5th.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the man is described as white or Hispanic with a thin build, black hair, and wearing glasses. He is estimated to be between the ages of 20 and 30, and was last seen driving a white, 4-door vehicle with tinted windows.
The incidents took place in the Westchase area. The man was at the intersection of Mon-
tague Street and New Parke Road when the first incident took place. The second oc- curred in the 9000 block of Cavendish Drive. Parley Drive and Millbank Way was the loca- tion of the third incident and the most recent occurred at West Park Village Drive and Cavendish Drive.
