BROTHER JAMES CALVIN YOUNG
Homegoing Celebration for Brother James Calvin Young, who passed on January 31, 2019, will be held on Saturday February 9, 2019, at 10 a. m. at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, 3708 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida, with Rev. W. D. Sims, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Brother James Calvin Young was born March 25, 1931 in By- romville, GA, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Felton and Alverna Young, Sr. He received his education in Byromville. He moved to Tampa with his family in 1955 and re- mained here until his demise.
Brother Young was employed with Winn Dixie for over 23 years before retiring in the 1970s. Upon retirement, he became self-em- ployed starting a business that in- cluded yard work and salvaging scrap metal.
James enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and according to some family mem- bers, he would talk, talk and talk. He drew great pleasure from chewing tobacco, and watching football, his favorite team was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During

his early years, he was an avid baseball player to the amazement of many playing as a left-handed pitcher, even though he was right-handed.
Brother Young became a member of St. Matthew over 60 years ago under the leadership of Reverend I. Anderson. He re- mained a faithful member until his health declined. His passion was serving with the Music Min- istry and especially with the Men’s Choir. He will be remem- bered by many for his rendition of “On My Way Home.”
He was preceded in death by wives, Georgia Young and Ruth Young; daughter, Jacquelyn Young; father and mother, Fel- ton, Sr. and Alverna Young; brothers, Felton, Jr., Eugene, James Thomas, Oscar, Sr., and Thomas James; sisters, Obbie, Ida Mae, and Betty; great grand- daughter, Lawra Young; aunts, Betty Copeland and Rosa Young.
Those left to cherish fond memories of him: sons, Lawrence Young (Brenda) and Clarence Young and wife, Victo- ria; caregiver, Lenora Buggs (Pete); grandsons, Lawrence Young, Jr., Rick Young, Reginald Butler and Vincent Butler; grand- daughters, Shatwanda Young and Ashley Young; great grand- children, Lawrence, III, Bran- don, Ciara, Jordan, Landon, Andre, Josiah, Emori, Cheyeene and Reggie, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Joyce Bloom, Vernell Young, Lonnie Young and Ellen Young; and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and many other caring relatives and friends.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day, February 8, 2019, at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida, from 5– 8 p. m. Friends are asked to as- semble at the church on Saturday at approximately 9:45 a. m. for the service.

Mr. David L. “Geech” Green was born August 24, 1927, in St. Augustine, FL, to the late Henry and Mary Green. God called his soul home to be with Him, from labor to reward.
David is survived by: his daughter, Delores Green Jivens of Savannah, GA; two sons, Marvin Grier of Tampa, FL and David Jerome Green of Denver, CO; his grands, Kenneth, Phyllis (deceased), Nathan, Terrie, Tor- rence, Henry Darren, Jr (de- ceased), Louie, Marcel, Tamika, Marcus, Sunni, David Jerome, Jr., Killi, and Angel; a beloved sister, Almeta Davis of Gary, IN; a dear brother, Peter Green of Tampa, FL; a sister-in-law, Bibi Green of Tampa, and brother- in-law, Thomas Rembert of Val- dosta, GA; a beloved caregiver, Lavetta Sexil, of Tampa, and a host of great-grands, great- great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. George Norton was born on February 21, 1942 to Carl and Mattie Norton and de- parted this life destined for his heavenly home on January 29, 2019.
He was preceded in death by: his wife of 43 years, Mer- cedes Norton; father, Carl Nor- ton; mother, Mattie Norton; daughter, Felecia Williams; brother, Arthur Frank Tucker, and brother, Theodore Tucker.

He was a man rooted and grounded in his faith and love for his family!! He also shared a love of fishing, hunting and nature! He never met a stranger, and loved to pour his wisdom and knowledge into the lives of young people.
He was loved and respected by many and he will be missed terribly by his family. Enter into your rest, man of God!!!
