Cam Newton, Panthers Reach $103.8M Extension
CAM NEWTON
The Carolina Panthers are tying their future to Cam Newton.
Newton signed a five-year extension that will keep him under team control through the 2020 season, the Panthers announced on Tuesday.
The deal is worth $103.8 million with Newton receiving $67.6 million over the first three years.
The extension contains $60 million in guarantees. The sig- nal-caller also will earn $30 million the first year of the deal.
It's an unalterable reality of 21st century football that teams fortunate enough to boast a quarterback identified as the face of the franchise pay what it takes to maintain that luxury.
The Panthers clearly value Newton as a legitimate fran- chise quarterback with his best years on the immediate hori- zon.

Michael Jordan Finally Releases Golf Shoe To The Public
Gassers With Offensive Line
The first golf shoe Michael Jordan has re- leased in over a decade can be brought by the public.
Although the Jordan Flight Runner Golf isn’t what we’ve seen Bradley wear, it is a step in the right direction. The shoe is made up of mesh and synthetic materials, and closely resembles Nike Golf's

When you make a mistake in the NFL, there are conse- quences, even if it's like high school football where you have to run some sprints.
Well, according to Joe- BucsFan.com, Logan Mankins was heading up the charge and running gassers each time that the offensive line messed up during OTAs.
"Naturally, the young of- fensive linemen -- the two rookies and the “Milk Car- tons” -- followed Mankins’ lead and began running gassers with him. Offsides,
holding, illegal procedure, missing assignments, what- ever, Mankins and the youngsters start sprinting. Soon, the veterans on the line joined in."
Here's where it gets even more interesting. As Joe Bucs Fan reports, at one point the line made a mistake, leading to Mankins beginning to run, but there was another player who jumped in to run gassers as well.
“'No, we’re a team!' the voice said, as the non-offen- sive lineman began hoofing it with the linemen running the gassers."
"Who was it? None other than 'America’s Quarterback,' Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston. Since then, every time the offensive line ran gassers for mistakes, Jameis ran right alongside."
Winston is back at it once again with his leadership abilities.

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Golden State Warriors shoot- ing guard Klay Thompson will play in Game 1 of the NBA Finals after completing the league's concussion protocol, the team announced Tuesday.
Thompson had been out indefinitely due to a concus- sion suffered in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals May 27 against the Houston Rockets.
