 USF’s Chapter Of Kappa Alpha Psi Celebrates 50 Years

On Friday, September 9, 2022, the Zeta Chi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., will celebrate 50 years at the University of South Florida.
The chapter will host many events leading up to a gala celebration on Friday night.
The chapter calls itself, “A chapter of achievement,” and the proof is in the pudding. Some of notable gradu- ates include Former County Commis- sioner Les Miller, the first Black student body president, John Charles Thomas, USF Board of Trustees, past chairman of the board, Senior Director Florida League of Cities, and Edwin Narain, former student body president and former State Representative who is the Vice President, External Affairs - AT&T.
Dr. Samuel Wright, retired USF administrator and undergradu- ate advisor to the chapter stated, “It wasn’t easy being an advisor to such a dynamic chapter, but I am so proud of the young men I advised. I am just

so impressed with the men they have become.”
Former County Commis- sioner Les Miller states, “I am so proud that 50 years after the Zeta Chi chapter was established, we are still going strong. Fifty years ago, the brothers built a foundation of and for leaders and it continues to this day.”

accomplished everything, we set out to do and to have four Black student body presidents, the most of any or- ganization in USF’s history.”
He continued, “Today, to be con- nected with so many outstanding men that continue to make a differ- ence throughout the world makes me proud.”
