Bosh Out For Season With Blood Clots
CHRIS BOSH
Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh will miss at least the re- mainder of the season after de- veloping blood clots on one of his lungs, the team announced Saturday.
The team said the All-Star is receiving care guided by Heat physicians at a South Florida hospital and resting comfort- ably.
Bosh thanked fans on so- cial media late Saturday night for their "messages, love and support" over the past few days.
Heat coach Erik Spoel- stra sounded upbeat about Bosh's road to recovery. The team received the news Satur- day morning, Spoelstra said, and welcomed the clarity after a frightening couple of days.
"His health will be re- stored," Spoelstra said before Miami's 105-91 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night. "That's the most impor- tant thing. That's bigger than basketball."
Spoelstra and Heat guard Dwyane Wade visited Bosh on Saturday.

On Points List
LEBRON JAMES And ALLEN IVERSON
NEW YORK -- LeBron James passed one of his childhood heroes, Allen Iverson, for No. 22 on the NBA's all-time leading scor- ing list in the Cleveland Cava- liers' 101-83 win against the New York Knicks on Sunday.
James came into the day trailing Iverson by three points and wasted little time passing him, scoring four points in the first 1:33 of the game, leapfrogging the for- mer Philadelphia 76ers star on a layup off an assist from Kevin Love.
"It's very, very humbling and it's an honor to just be named with some of the greats that I watched growing up," James said after the game. "And now to know that I passed Allen Iverson on the all-time scoring list, for someone that's not much of a scorer -- as you guys have
deemed me -- it is pretty cool."
James' sly dig at the media was presumably di- rected at the criticism he re- ceived early on in his career for passing the ball rather than going for the shot at- tempt himself late in games.
Despite winning just one scoring title (2007-08) dur- ing his 12-year career thus far, James' 27.4 points per game career scoring average is the third highest in league history, trailing only Michael Jordan (30.12) and Wilt Chamberlain (30.07).
Iverson averaged 26.66 points for his career while shooting 42.5 percent from the floor and 31.3 percent on 3-pointers. James is shoot- ing 49.6 percent overall for his career and 34.1 percent on 3s.
Nicklaus: Tiger's
Issues Are Mental
World Golf Hall of Famer and 18-time major champion Jack Nicklaus joined the chorus of people who think the majority of Tiger Woods' issues are of the mental variety.
"Tiger is struggling, I don't think there's any ques- tion about that," Nicklaus said Friday on the Golf Chan- nel. "... I think he's struggling more between his ears than he is anyplace else.
"He's struggled with the driver most of his life, really, but he's always been able to find the golf ball and get it somewhere back around the green. ... And now he's having trouble with the short game. That is not a good combina- tion, to drive it poorly and have a bad short game."
Nicklaus believes that Woods will regain his form but that he needs to do it his way.
"I think Tiger will turn it around," Nicklaus said. "He's too dedicated, he works too hard at it, and he’s got too much talent. He'll figure it out. And personally, I think he needs to figure it out himself. Because a teacher can't teach what's inside your head. You've got to be able to put that positive thought into your

head yourself."
And does he think
Woods, with 14 majors, will surpass Nicklaus' major championship record?
"I still do," Nicklaus said. "Why would I not think that? ... He's got a lot of golf in front of him. But it's going to be up to him, he's still got to do it. He may; he may not. Obvi- ously chances are harder for him now than five years ago, but I still think he has time on his side."
Woods announced Thursday that he would not play his hometown event, the Honda Classic, next week and is uncertain of his return to the PGA Tour.
He also is not eligible to play in two weeks at the WGC- Cadillac Championship at Doral because he is outside the top 50 in the world rank- ings. Woods is currently ranked 66th.
KENDRICK PERKINS Kendrick Perkins has
committed to signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers after he fi- nalized a buyout with the Utah Jazz on Saturday.
Perkins was traded to the Jazz on Thursday in a three- team deal that sent guard Reg- gie Jackson to the Detroit Pistons and Enes Kanter, Steve Novak, Kyle Singler and D.J. Augustin to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Perkins did not appear in a game for Utah.
He was recruited directly by LeBron James to pick the Cavs, according to a source. Perkins also drew heavy inter- est from the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs. The combination of a chance to win a championship along with an opportunity for playing time pushed Perkins to choose Cleveland.
James welcomed Perkins to Cleveland via Twitter on Sat- urday, which Perkins gra- ciously accepted.
LOS ANGELES -- Boston Celtics forward Jared Sullinger will miss the re- mainder of the season with a left metatarsal stress fracture, the team announced Sunday.
Sullinger said he felt some discomfort in the foot the day after Boston closed the first half of the season
with a win over the Atlanta Hawks on Feb. 11.
He removed himself from Boston's practice when the team reconvened in Sacra- mento on Wednesday, and team trainer Ed Lacerte took him for initial tests Thursday that revealed the foot injury.
