Popular Musician Passes
LEMUEL R. ANDREWS, JR.
A local renowned musician passed away at Brandon Regional Hospital after a brief illness on Friday, February 20, 2015.
Mr. Lemuel Andrews, Jr.
will be remembered for being a dedicated musician for over 60 years of service at First Baptist Church of College Hill, Greater Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, Greater New Salem Primitive Baptist Church, Hope of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church, Loving Hill Primitive Baptist Church, Mt. Olive Mis- sionary Baptist Church, New First Union Baptist Church and others.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home and services are planned for Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11 A. M. at Greater Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, 1225 North Nebraska Avenue, Dr. B. R. Fulton, Pastor.
The family wishes to have a Mass Choir of the former choir members from the choirs in which Mr. Andrews was the musician who will sing at the fu- neral.

RAY WILLIAMS
MRS. VIDA HOWELL
Mrs. Vida Howell passed peacefully from this life on the morning of February 19, 2015, after a gradual decline in health. She was sur- rounded and supported by her sister-in-law, friends, and loving family during the last days of her life.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Feb- ruary 25, 2015, at 9 a. m. at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2511 East Columbus Drive, with Pastor Larry Roundtree, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Born April 12, 1937, on St. Vincent Street in Trinidad, to Ronnie and Lenora Nicome, Vida was the fourth and last surviving child of five sib- lings.
She lived in New York for many years; however, in 1994, after realizing that she could no longer endure the cold weather, she decided to move to beautiful Tampa, where she lived the remain- der of her life.
Vida was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her fam- ily, traveling, and shopping. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three children, John and his wife, Judy, Jerry (deceased) and his wife, Vanessa, and Junior Allen and his wife, Pat; sev- eral grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The remains will repose from 4-7 p. m., Tuesday, Feb- ruary 24, 2015, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.

MR. ROBERT L. RUSHING
Homegoing celebration for Mr. Robert L. Rushing of Tampa, who passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015, will be held Friday, February 27,2015,at2p.m.atRay Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 North Howard Avenue. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Born in Gainesville, FL, on December 10, 1936, to Agnes and William Rushing, Mr. Rushing was raised in Ocala, FL, where he attended Mar- ion County Public Schools. He later moved to Tampa, where he was a resident for over 40 years.
Robert was preceded in death by: his beloved com- panion, Beulah M. Cushion- Foster; mother, Agnes; father, William; daughter, Vanessa Rushing; brothers, James Rushing and Nathaniel Rushing; and sis- ter, Olive Rushing.
Loving memories will re- main in the lives of Robert’s family who will dearly miss him.
He leaves to cherish his memory: sons, Robert Rush- ing, Jr., Joseph Rushing, Gerald Rushing, Donte Rushing and Moses Rushing; daughters, Sylvia Rushing, Tammy Foster-Knight and Vera Foster; brother, Joseph Rushing; sister-in-law, Lizzie Rushing; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His remains will repose after 4 p. m., Thursday, Feb- ruary 26, 2015, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue; and the family will receive friends from 4-7 p. m.
Friends are asked to meet at Ray Williams Funeral Home on Friday for the serv- ice.

MRS. CATHERINE FERGUSON
Mrs. Catherine Ferguson ended this journey and began her final journey into her eternal home with her heav- enly Father on Tuesday, Feb- ruary 17, 2015.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p. m., Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Ray Williams Fu- neral Home, 301 North Howard Avenue, Tampa. There will also be a viewing Friday night, February 27, 2015, at Bradwell Mortuary, 18300 Blue Star (Highway 90 West), Quincy, FL, 32351. A graveside service and inter- ment will take place Satur- day, February 28th at Springfield Cemetery in Gretna, FL.
In this life she was a de- voted daughter, a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grand- mother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, cousin, friend, neighbor, and dedicated church worker.
Our mother was the third child born to Marie Frances Smith and Jordan Charles Smith in Bowling Green, KY. She was given the Royal name, Catherine Marie Eliz- abeth Smith, which she lived up to. She was a Royal Lady. She and her mother and sib- lings moved later to an area outside of Quincy, FL, where she attended Springfield Ele- mentary and then attended Stevens High in Quincy, FL, where she was very popular and made lifelong friends. She completed high school at Don Thompson Adult School in Tampa, and took an insur- ance course at Atlanta Life Insurance Company in At- lanta, GA. During her em- ployment with Atlanta Life Insurance, her job roles in- cluded being a field agent, a secretary and a bookkeeper. She retired after 35 years of service. After retirement she became a volunteer worker.
Ms. Ferguson joined Allen Temple A. M. E. Church, where she remained a faith- ful member for nearly sixty years. She was a Lay Mem- ber, served as Treasure for 12 years, member of the Sanctu- ary Choir, now known as The Gospel Choir, one of the orig- inal SAM Ministry, Mission- ary Society, Willing Workers and may more.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Marie and Charles Smith; sister, Clara Gainous; brother, Charles Smith; granddaughter, Feli- cia Cathy Miller; and great grandson, Tavares Miller.
Ms. Ferguson leaves be- hind: two beloved children, Frances Ferguson (John Terry) Dargan, and Rodney Lovell (Linda) Ferguson; godson, Earnest Moore (Stephanie); sister, Jeanette Scott; grandchildren, Earl Miller (Pop), John Walker
Dargan, Howard Dargan, Tamiko Dargan (Patrick Nel- son), Jamel Dargan (Devon), Rodney A.
