Man Faces Murder Charge In Death Of Rapper
Man Found Dead In Ybor City Park

... Charged with murder of rapper
A Lee County man was ar- rested by the U. S. Marshal’s Service in Lee County Tuesday. He is charged with the murder of Tampa based rapper Rollie Bands, aka Ari Williams. Williams was fatally wounded in his apartment complex parking lot last week. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Darren Day. Day has been charged with first-degree murder.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office launched their investigation into a shooting in the parking lot of the IQ Apart- ments, 12708 Bruce B Downs Boulevard, around 3:30 p.m., on July 29th. When deputies arrived at the scene, they dis- covered the injured man in the parking lot. He was trans- ported to a local hospital, where he later died of his in- juries.
Deputies said, the suspects had driven away from the

scene in an unknown direc- tion. At this time, the shooting did not appear random, and the suspects and victim possi- bly know each other.
According to Social Media, the victim was an aspiring Tampa rapper known as “Rol- lie Bands.”
Prior to the shooting, Rollie Bands reportedly challenged his enemies on Instagram to try and kill him and advertised his address.
The post allegedly stated, “A lot of these n-ggas know where Iliveatfr.Isleepinpeace.Ifa n-gga want smoke I’m at my crib in 5 minutes.”

Police are investigating the death of an adult man. His body was found shortly before 7 a.m., Wednesday.
According to the Tampa Po- lice Department, the investiga- tion took place in the 1800 block of E. 8th Avenue in Cen- tennial Park. Officers discov- ered the deceased victim had suffered upper body trauma.
The preliminary investiga- tion suggests that it is not a random incident and the vic- tim and suspect were known to each other. Detectives are cur- rently trying to develop leads in the case.
